Living in beautiful San Diego, you are treated to the best of everything. In keeping with that ideal, Dr. Hernandez, our Pacific Beach dentist, has developed a state-of-the-art dental studio to tend to the oral health needs of patients in Pacific Beach and surrounding areas.

Our goal is to provide patients with a standard of care that helps them feel most comfortable in visiting the dentist. Dr. Hernandez and his staff understand the anxiety that many patients feel, and have successfully treated even those who have avoided visiting the dentist for decades. From the youngest to the oldest member of your family, dental care is tailored to specific physical needs and the emotional needs that may have been neglected by other practitioners. When you're comfortable, you can receive necessary care and have more reasons to smile!
Face masks optional. The office is kept very clean and disinfected throughout the day, all our instruments go through a sterilization process, weekly testing equipment. We wipe down office with Clorox wipes(doorknobs, pens, counters, merchant machines, light switches, chairs, etc.). Hand washing stations are available and hand sanitizers. We are open as essential providers to the community treating all patients for all types of dental procedures.

Best dentist ever!!! Dr. Hernandez and his team are angels sent straight from the oral hygiene gods.
I have pretty bad dentist-related anxiety and hadn't gone in years, so was doubly anxious to book an appointment. Never in my life have I felt so calm and comforted in a dentists office. The atmosphere they create is so calm and welcoming, it honestly feels like a spa for your teeth. The team went above and beyond to sooth any nerves I was feeling (I'm talking weighted blanket, peppermint oil, the whole nine yards).
Dr. Hernandez was absolutely wonderful--kind, reassuring, clear on his explanations--and he checked in with me throughout the cleaning and later filling processes. There was no judgement, only solutions. They even let me wear my big noise cancelling headphones which was such a game changer.
I cannot recommend this place highly enough, especially if you're anxious about the dentist. Seriously wish I had known about them sooner!

Unbelievably smooth, professional, and friendly service. I’m here in San Diego for work and had a previously filled cavity “chip” off. I debated waiting until I got home to get it fixed, but decided to handle it while I was here. Based on the amazing online reviews I decided to visit Dr. Ricardo Hernandez at Pacific Beach Smile Studio.
From the moment I walked in everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. I had prefilled my first time patient forms through ZocDoc so check in was a breeze. I was seen immediately and the hygienist took X-Rays of the tooth as well as pictures. While waiting for Dr. Hernandez they set me up with Netflix and wireless headphones, which was super nice. Dr. Hernandez explained that it was close to being a root canal but would try to just replaced the cavity filing. He was incredibly patient and thorough in explaining everything, and walked me through the X-Rays and images of the tooth they took. Prior to beginning the work, they went over my treatment plan and explained the costs upfront based on needing the root canal or not. Once they started working they got me nice and numb and after removing some decay and examining the tooth explained the root canal wasn’t necessary and they were able to just replace the cavity filling. They added some extra layers of protection and treatment to make sure the tooth wouldn’t be sensitive to hot and cold, as well as matched the existing tooth color perfectly.
Dr. Hernandez and his team were completely transparent, honest, and had an amazing bedside manner. A lesser Doctor would have jumped at the opportunity to perform a root canal and collect the additional money, especially knowing i was in from out of town and likely wouldn’t be back.
If i lived here this would definitely be my regular dentist! Highly highly recommended!

The only thing I would change is that I wish they had doors on the rooms, it’s all open so other people can see/hear into your room when you’re getting worked on. Sort of uncomfortable with that.
