We are a woman run, queer/ally and neurodivergent-friendly practice. Our mental health services are designed to support and empower individuals and couples to achieve long-term wellness and resilience.
We take a holistic approach, integrating evidence-based therapeutic techniques, self-care strategies, and personal growth practices. Our services help people build emotional strength, develop effective coping skills, and cultivate a positive, grounded mindset.
By fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, we empower clients to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and adapt to adversity in healthy, sustainable ways. Our goal is to equip each person with the tools they need to thrive both mentally and emotionally.
I graduated with a Dual Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and a NJ School Guidance Counselor Certification from Centenary University in 2013. My career in the mental health profession, however, began in 2007 when I began working at a Partial Care Program with severely mentally ill and developmentally disabled adults as a lead clinical specialist/counselor, running both individual and group therapy sessions. Coupled with working this position full time, I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
I began working with clients with substance use disorders and wanted to extend my level of expertise in addiction counseling. I began working at Hackettstown Hospital’s Counseling and Addiction Center, running both the Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient programs. I worked in both adolescent and adult programs, where I completed most of my clinical hours toward my Master’s Degree. In addition, I worked in a women’s substance abuse program, running both individual and group therapy for women with a significant history of trauma and co-occurring mental health disorders.
Shortly after, I began an internship at Mount Olive High School, where I was working with students on college prep and planning, as well as various other concerns to improve academic performance. From there, I decided to extend my knowledge and expertise to counseling young children, especially as I became a mother and wanted to better understand mental health in children. I began working at Catholic Charities in the outpatient program with children and families.
For the past five years, I have been the lead assessor for a Division of Child Protection and Permanency-run contracted program, assisting with treatment planning and conducting evaluations that are often court-ordered. I work closely with administering psychological testing alongside our psychologists and have gained a tremendous amount of clinical expertise through this collaboration in clinical case reviews and treatment planning. These clients are generally high-needs, high-risk individuals, and I have developed motivational interviewing skills to engage them effectively, supporting some of the most challenging cases involving substance abuse, trauma, legal issues, and significant mental health disorders.
In addition, I have continued building my knowledge base through play therapy training and have worked with children as young as three years old who have experienced significant trauma, including those removed from their homes and placed in foster care. I’ve also worked in a family-based program that encouraged continued parenting skill development, while providing counseling to both parent and child in preparation for reunification.
On a personal level, I am a mother to two beautiful children, and if I’m not working, you’ll likely find me at sporting events with my daughter and son. I also manage my own challenges, including an autoimmune disorder and ADHD. I understand how these struggles can impact mental health, but I truly believe that with time, focus, and commitment to self-care, anything is possible.
My counseling style is eclectic; however, I incorporate CBT and DBT into my sessions. I am currently in the process of receiving my DBT skills certification as well as certification in ADHD-focused counseling. I also recognize that many of our traumatic experiences are rooted in early childhood and attachment to primary caregivers.
I remain curious about the biological basis for behavior and continue to pursue new treatment approaches, including holistic medicine and health options. I was born and raised in Northern New Jersey and enjoyed a lifetime of competitive cheerleading. In my free time, I love spending quality time with my children.
