Peak Body and Mind
Josh Swigart, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a psychiatric nurse practitioner and the founder of Peak Body and Mind — Reno's only neuroplasticity-based psychiatric practice — and the developer of the Peak Neuroplasticity Protocol™.
Josh began his clinical career as a CNA before working as an RN across the ICU, neurology, PACU, and neurosurgery. He then served as a psychiatric NP in the emergency department at Renown Regional Medical Center and subsequently as a psychiatric NP for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where he managed psychiatric care for thousands of incarcerated individuals across one of the most complex, high-volume systems in the country. That foundation — years of critical care nursing and high-acuity psychiatric work — defines how he approaches mental illness: as a biological problem, not a behavioral one.
He holds a Ketamine Fellowship through the Ketamine Research Institute under Gerald Grass, and a ketamine certification and Integrative Psychiatry certification through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute. His peptide training includes two A4M certifications and a certification through SSRP. He holds two ozone and EBOO certifications — one under Dr. Brendan Cochran and one under Kim Look — and an Advanced IV Nutrient Therapy certification through IIVNTP. His neural therapy training comes from Christina Finnerty in Idaho Falls and Dr. Suzanne Ferree at Vyne Medical in Atlanta. He is a Fellow-in-Training in the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (ABAAHP, completing July 2026), a listed IFM provider completing functional medicine certification, and a current participant in Dr. Craig Koniver's Performance Medicine certification program for providers.
At Peak Body and Mind, every patient receives a Brain Gauge cortical assessment and WAVi quantitative EEG at baseline. The Peak Neuroplasticity Protocol™ integrates ketamine therapy, IV nutrient therapy, compounded peptides, neural therapy, hormone optimization for mental health, and Stellate Ganglion Block for PTSD into a sequenced, biomarker-gated protocol designed for patients who have not responded to standard care.
