PELVIC HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER
Dr. Peter Lotze is a board-certified urogynecologist and pelvic reconstructive surgeon who has cared for patients in Houston for more than two decades. He was the first fellowship-trained urogynecologist to establish a private practice in Houston in 2002 and was among the first physicians in the United States to become board certified in Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery when subspecialty certification became available.
Dr. Lotze specializes in the evaluation and treatment of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and complex pelvic floor disorders, including persistent symptoms or complications after prior pelvic surgery. His expertise also includes bladder dysfunction, urgency and frequency, and urinary retention.
He uses advanced diagnostic testing, including flexible cystoscopy and multichannel urodynamics, to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals. Options may include medical management, office-based therapies, or surgery. When surgery is appropriate, he focuses on minimally invasive techniques, including robotic-assisted, laparoscopic, and vaginal reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Lotze also integrates pelvic medicine with broader wellness services through the Pelvic Health & Wellness Center, including hormone replacement therapy for women and men. His approach emphasizes education and shared decision-making so patients feel informed and confident.
Patients are supported by a collaborative care team that includes experienced nurse practitioners who work closely with Dr. Lotze in evaluation, education, treatment planning, and follow-up, allowing for attentive, timely care and continuity.
Dr. Lotze has served as a fellowship director, published, and served as a board examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has held hospital leadership roles and has been recognized as a Texas Super Doctor®.
