I have been a patient at two separate transitional moments of my life: a divorce and now the death of my ex-husband. Dr. Romero's unique approach to build resilience through creativity has changed my life by changing my perspective on life. Aside from several publications documenting his approach, his coaching has helped me to effectively change codependent dysfunction into a wish-driven journey to let go of baggage that holds me hostage in a victim narrative. It's true that everyone's situation is different but for me not a day goes by that years of self doubt and self sabotage aren't part of who I am. Dr. Romero's approach is universal in that it draws on the creative impulse to be a part of daily life, along with other mindfulness practices. Creativity is the key to adaptation, which is the key to survival. It's a simple invitation to daydream of my journey forward instead of an invitation to fail. If I can accept that, the prison walls will always give way to healing and gratitude.
