Phoenix Hand is a state of the art facility specializing in minimally invasive hand surgery performed under local anesthesia without the need for a tourniquet. We have on site X-ray and ultrasound to diagnose and treat common hand conditions without the need for multiple visits to different faclities.

I went in with a strained wrist from weightlifting. It had been really painful for 2 weeks and hadn't gotten better until the day before the appointment. The office ran like clockwork. Everything was on-time. Dr. Madden seemed to know his stuff. Everything he said lined up with the pain patterns I had been experiencing in my wrist. He explained three possible scenarios, but then explained the most likely one. He said that an MRI would really be a waste of money at this point. He suggested a cortisone shot, but gave me the choice because after 2 weeks of no improvement, things started getting better. I went with the shot because the pain had been so extreme for those 2 weeks and I need to use my wrist for my job. He also made some great suggestions about how to avoid future injuries while lifting weights which I really appreciated. I was out of there in 10 minutes, yet I never felt rushed by Dr. Madden.

I have extreme tennis elbow in both arms, which is very painful. Dr. Madden listened to the problem, tried solutions and explained my options. He made me feel comfortable and informed. We went ahead and did shots in both arms, and the office will follow up in 3 weeks to check on my condition. I have referred my husband to him as he has corporal tunnel. I would highly recommend Dr. Madden.

Dr. Madden was very knowledgeable and went through a number of exercises and stretches to help pinpoint the cause of the pain in my wrist. He explained very clearly what he suspected the cause could be (it seems to be tendonitis) and recommended a cortisone shot. The other option was scheduling a scan, which would most likely lead to doing a cortisone shot anyway. We skipped the middle part and did the shot. Already less than 12 hours later my wrist feels like it's getting better. The office will follow up in 3 weeks to make sure things are heading in the right direction. The staff was friendly and communicative from when I walked in and there was hardly a wait.
