Point Loma Clinic
Our small team of psychologists and psychiatrist provide psychiatric and psychological care grounded in clinical rigor and careful listening. Treatment is individually tailored, evidence-based, and when appropriate can include innovative options such as ketamine.
We treat children, adolescents, and adults in San Diego, with offices in Del Mar and Point Loma and via telehealth throughout California.
Our Philosophy of Care
We believe in listening, foremost. Without attentive and empathetic listening on a human-to-human basis patients don’t feel safe enough to share their story. It is that story which forms the basis of how our psychiatrists and psychologists formulate treatment. Careful listening allows for a more robust understanding of the history, circumstances, and complexities that have led the individual to seek treatment.
Comprehensive information helps guide the suggestions we make, the treatments we recommend, and the way we approach you as an individual. Although science and evidence-based care will guide our care, we are not limited to one standard protocol for any specific condition, since your individual needs are what really determine the treatment plan.
We also believe that patients should have direct access to their doctors for reasons of confidentiality and for a more rapid response. When you call, text, or email, we answer you directly rather than through a third party. We are available to answer questions between sessions as needed, which allows patients to feel that someone is really paying attention to them as an individual.
When both psychiatric care and psychotherapy are optimal, we can provide seamless coordinated care, with direct communication between clinicians rather than parallel, isolated treatment. Our clinicians understand the complexities of both psychiatry and psychotherapy and so can understand each other well when we discuss your care. We also understand that when standard approaches have not worked, innovative treatments, such as ketamine, may be indicated.
