Dr. Henschke, a native of Washington DC, cultivated her academic foundation at Georgetown University, where she earned a bachelors degree in psychology. Following this, she worked with Dr. Laura Solomon doing advocacy work for children with special needs in the DC metro area.
Her pursuit of medical expertise led her to Tulane University School of Medicine, where she obtained her medical degree in 2004. Dr. Henschke commenced her professional endeavors with an internship in pediatrics at Nemours Children’s Hospital, previously known as Miami Children’s Hospital. She went on to specialize in adult psychiatry through her residency at George Washington University Hospital. She further honed her expertise in child psychiatry during a fellowship at Stanford University Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital. During her fellowship, she also served as a psychiatrist at the Center for Discovery, a residential treatment facility for adolescents grappling with eating disorders. Dr. Henschke’s dedication to her craft is underscored by her dual board certification in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry.
Following the completion of her training, Dr. Henschke returned to Tulane University, assuming the role of associate professor in child and adolescent psychiatry. Here, she was appointed medical director of the consult liaison service and various outpatient clinics, where she imparted her knowledge and expertise to medical students, psychiatry residents, and child psychiatry fellows.
In 2014, Dr. Henshcke transitioned to Colorado, where she assumed the role of medical director for the child and adolescent unit at Centennial Peaks Hospital in Louisville, CO. In 2019 she relocated to Saint Johns, Florida where she resumed her outpatient psychiatry practice. Licensed to practice medicine in Colorado and Florida, Dr. Henschke continues to enrich the lives of her patients through her unwavering dedication and clinical acumen.
I am a mother to 2 children and enjoy spending time with my family, getting out into nature, traveling, crochet, and yoga. I enjoy working with individuals and families to improve quality of life with the least medication possible.

Dr. Henschke is a fantastic psychiatrist. She listens - really listens. I've taken both of my children to her as well. What I appreciate about Dr. Henschke is her genuine interest in her patients' mental well-being and lives. Sometimes, visiting a psychiatrist for medication can feel a little like an oil change. Symptoms - check. Med change - check. (Not all their fault, I know.) Not with Dr. Henschke. She wants to know how a patient's counseling is going. She will confer with other members of her patients' care teams. She notices subtleties in behavioral, emotional, and sleep changes and delves into them. Although I went to her myself for anxiety and depression, she got to know me well enough that she picked up on my lifelong inattentive type ADD that I, a teacher with an ESE background, never noticed. That revelation explained so much of my life. Dr. Henschke is excellent with teenagers and sensitive to the needs of patients with autism and their families. Highly, highly recommended!
