Engelbert Marrero was excellent! He was incredibly knowledgeable, far more than any GP or Psychiatrist I have seen. He was very understanding and easy to communicate with, and did not make me feel like he was trying to rush through the appointment whatsoever. He also had extensive knowledge on POTS, which is hard to find from even my Primary care Doctor. He immediately knew the best way to help treat my needs while also considering all other factors in my medical record, rather than just writing scripts and moving on. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

Mr. Marrero is great! He is my provider and my minor daughter’s provider for medication management. Of all the practitioners we have seen, he is the only one who listens and addresses a parent’s concerns. I believe Mr. Marrero is correct in my daughter’s diagnoses and is treating them accordingly. He took 90 minutes with us today. And he explains the medications and the diagnoses. Not “this is what you have, take this, ask no questions, I’m the dr not you.” We heard NONE of that from Mr. Marrero. This ensures trust, and parents need that when a provider is treating our children.
He’s excellent. Easy to talk to, listens, explains everything and makes sure you’re comfortable with the plan, as well. I’m very happy to have found this provider.

This was one of the best introductory meetings with my new psych NP. He takes the time to get to know you; has an in depth discussion of what you as the patient see as issues that can be improved; and he does not dictate how you should feel or “be.” Non-judgmental. That is key with mental health - especially my diagnosis (borderline personality disorder) which is widely misunderstood and misdiagnosed. He was very knowledgeable about my illness and listened to my trials and tribulations with it. Very respectful as well. I highly recommend!
Bert is fantastic, thorough, and empathetic. When my previous PMHNP stopped seeing patients, I had to find a new provider. As someone who’s been diagnosed with ADHD for over a decade, I’m really wary of new psych providers since so many seem to be operating on outdated or incomplete understandings of my condition, or are so concerned with hypothetical drug-seeking patients that they won’t touch you with a 10-foot pole, no matter what your lived experience is. Bert was a breath of fresh air, actively listening, talk by the full time of our first session to get to know me and my situation, and even digging into my other conditions like anxiety that past providers haven’t bothered to look at because I present as “high-functioning”. I’ve had one follow-up session so far which was prompt and useful and I look forward to continuing my care with this level of thoughtfulness.

I’ve had unsuccessful experiences with therapy in the past, but just within the first session, Dr. Marrero performed a comprehensive analysis and helped me understand my struggles, provided me with tools and resources to fix them, and was open to helping me find a treatment plan that I was comfortable with. He made me feel so comfortable sharing my struggles and made me feel heard and validated, while asking all of the right questions to allow our session to be as productive as possible. What we accomplished in one session was what I initially expected would happen over multiple months, and I appreciate how productive and efficient he is. Also, I had an issue with my insurance and a prescription, and Dr. M resolved the issue within half an hour. I highly recommend Dr. Marrero, especially for first-time therapy goers!
