Reassure Health
Welcome to Reassure Health — Where You'll Finally Feel Heard
At Reassure Health, I believe healing starts with being truly seen. Not as a diagnosis. Not as a chart number. As a person with a story, a struggle, and a future worth fighting for.
I'm Dr. Onyeisi Stephen Ogbomeh — but you can call me Dr. Og. I'm a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Family Nurse Practitioner providing virtual psychiatric care for children, adults, and seniors across Illinois, Texas, and Wisconsin.
My Story Shapes My Practice
I didn't grow up with privilege. I grew up in poverty in Nigeria, working as a bus conductor and construction laborer as a child just to help my family eat. In 2007, I won the U.S. Visa Lottery and arrived in America with little more than a prayer and a dream. I started my healthcare journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant, working my way up to earn my Doctor of Nursing Practice and multiple board certifications—all while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA.
I also served my adopted country as an Active Duty Family Nurse Practitioner in the U.S. Army. But after returning from service, I faced my own mental health battles. Depression. Anxiety. PTSD. I'm currently in recovery, receiving care at my local VA hospital. That journey changed me. It's why I do this work. And it's why I understand—truly understand—what you might be going through.
My Philosophy: Partnership Over Prescription
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all psychiatry. You are not a checklist. You are not a problem to be solved. You are a whole person, and my job is to walk alongside you on your path to healing.
My approach is built on four pillars:
1. Careful Listening
Before I ever suggest a treatment, I listen. Really listen. I want to hear your story in your own words—what brought you here, what you've tried, what scares you, and what gives you hope. The first session isn't about rushing to a diagnosis. It's about building trust.
2. Comprehensive Evaluation
Mental health is complex. I take time to understand your full picture—your history, your symptoms, your physical health, your relationships, your goals. I look at the whole person, not just the presenting problem.
3. Evidence-Based Treatment
I use proven, research-backed approaches. That means medication management when appropriate, supportive therapy, cognitive behavioral techniques, and lifestyle adjustments. I stay current with the latest science because you deserve the best care available.
4. Ongoing Partnership
Healing isn't a straight line. It's a journey with ups and downs. I don't disappear after the first prescription. I adjust, I check in, I collaborate with your other providers, and I stay with you for the long haul.
What Sets Reassure Health Apart
There are many psychiatric practices. Here's what makes mine different:
Lived Experience
I'm not just a provider—I'm also a patient. I know what it feels like to sit in that chair, to wonder if things will ever get better, to fear being judged. That experience makes me a better listener and a more compassionate clinician. When I say 'I understand,' I mean it.
Family Medicine Background
As a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, I bring a holistic perspective to psychiatric care. I understand how physical health, medications, and mental wellness all connect. I treat the whole person, not just the diagnosis.
All Ages Welcome
I provide care for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Whether you're a parent seeking help for your child, a young adult navigating anxiety, or a senior concerned about memory changes, I'm here to help.
Military & Veteran Focus
As a U.S. Army veteran, I have a deep understanding of the unique mental health challenges faced by service members, veterans, and their families. I'm honored to serve those who have served.
Virtual Care That Works
I offer convenient telehealth appointments across Illinois, Texas, and Wisconsin. No commute. No waiting room. Just quality care from wherever you feel most comfortable.

My Promise to You

I know reaching out takes courage. I've been there. But I also know that healing is possible—because I'm living proof.
You don't have to face this alone. Let's walk this journey together.
