We booked a couples appointment with Rona who reached out to us and asked us to move the appointment up and we agreed on an earlier time. We showed up at her office at the time discussed and Rona was not present. We waited half an hour after texting her asking if she was still available. She didn’t answer until 30 minutes after our appointment time asking us to come back as she still had time to meet. This was extremely unprofessional especially for a first time patient experience. There was no apology or empathy in her messages after realizing she missed our schedule appointment and almost made it seem like it was our fault that we didn’t call her. This was a blessing in disguise as I cannot imagine having a therapist that doesn’t know what an apology looks like.

I went to see Rona Okin for issues I was having with anxiety and panic attacks. We met every week during the course of 2 years. We discussed my issues and sjhe provided me dwith many techniques such as relation exercises, charting my anxiety vitamin and protein therapyto try to reduce my panic attacks. Rona was so understanding and sincere, but she also made sure she held me accountable. She was made time for me last minute.

Unfortunately, I found Dr. Okin to be unprofessional. While I appreciated her advice and she set me on a good path of finding help, her remarks about my family were inappropriate and judgemental. In addition, after I paid her directly she then cashed a check from my insurance company and refused to reimburse me for the duplicate payment.

She always gets back to me quickly - even during off hours, and is very organized. II consider myself very fortunate to have found her on ZocDoc!

This was one of the worst experiences with a doctor that I have ever had. She was 15 minutes late to the appointment, and asked to use FaceTime instead of the portal. She made insensitive, disparaging, and unprofessional comments during our time together. The following week, she erratically requested multiple payments via text and refused to communicate with my insurance and submit the paperwork with them. I am very disappointed and will be following up with ZocDoc to ensure that this does not happen to anyone else.
