I am passionate about empowering others to take control of their mental health. I graduated with my Masters of Arts in Counseling from Northwestern University where I gained experience utilizing Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Most of my experience has been working with adult individuals and couples on a variety of issues such as trauma, anxiety, and depression. I am also involved in research regarding the affectional identity community (LGB+) and am an avid trans ally. Often, my work as a licensed therapist has gifted me with working with the queer community in a variety of settings.

I've seen 3 therapists prior to Joni. None of them clicked. I've worked with Joni for almost 2 years now and I'm still thrilled as ever to work with her. Joni does a great job of seeing the bigger picture whilst paying attention to the little details.

I began with Joni September 2020. The pandemic was happening and that caused a ton of stuff to start coming up (maybe it did for you too?). Since then she has been a vital part of my wellness. She is patient when I need it and pushes when I'm blocking the path of my growth. I highly recommend her. I'm not a person who loves to talk about themselves, but with Joni, it feels natural and easy. Again, highly recommend. Can't say enough positive things. Would give more stars if I could.
