Santa Monica Women’s Health

Santa Monica Women’s health is the most well established and respected Obstetrics and Gynecology office on the Westside. We have been providing excellent care to women in the Santa Monica area since 1970. We are all board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and are well equipped to manage routine and high risk pregnancies, all aspects of gynecology, infertility, menopause, and family planning. While we are a group practice, we all strive to take care of our own patients. While some offices charge fees for “concierge” care, we believe that all patients deserve to have great service and to see their doctor in a timely fashion and have all their concerns met and answered. Similarly, we all try our best to attend all of our own deliveries and do so over 90% of the time. Should a patient’s primary doctor be unavailable, one of the doctors in our practice will step in and ensure that the patient is well taken care of. At Santa Monica Women’s Health we have our own ultrasound techs and laboratory. We are capable of taking care of all our patient’s needs within our office and thus provide a very efficient and extensive level of care. Our office staff ensures that the day runs smoothly and that patients feel welcomed and treated with respect and compassion. We understand that each patient is an individual and we strive to tailor our treatments to our patient’s needs and desires. We deliver and operate out of St John’s Hospital– one of the best hospitals in Los Angeles. We are well trained in minimally invasive surgery from hysteroscopy to laparoscopy and robotic surgery. We are also thrilled to now offer equally excellent care in our office in Playa Vista– allowing our patients in the south bay easier access to our high level of services.

The booking was not reflected in their system and they turned me away, the lady at receiption said she doesnt even know what zocdoc is. Was someone trying to hit their sales numbers so faked this account or something?

This experience felt very impersonal, probably the coldest well woman exam I’ve ever had. It definitely felt like they wanted to rush me out, after I waited 30 minutes to be seen. The actual check up was less than 7 minutes, including the Pap smear. I won’t be going back.
Like many zocdoc appointments that I've made, the appointment that I booked was changed to another date/time. That said, the staff were very nice and helpful in finding me an appointment just a few days later. I was able to get an ultrasound in house right before seeing the doctor and there was little waiting in between that and seeing the nurse practitioner and then the doctor herself. Everyone was very kind and friendly who I met with and seemed very competent. While I was there for over an hour, only about 5-7 minutes of that was with Dr. Gabbay who seemed a bit hurried, but very nice and reassuring. The medical center has good safety protocols in place and there is parking that is partially validated in the building (there is also on street parking). I was able to schedule a follow-up appointment before I left. My only slight complaint was that I had 2 "flags" on my urinary analysis that was emailed to me and after a week no one had followed up. As it turns out, neither of the flags were anything to worry about, but it would have been nice to have a note or email about that from the doctor's office indicating this so that I didn't have to call myself and worry about what might be wrong for several days.

Bedside manner was terrible. I really did not enjoy my time with Dr. Gabbay and will not be back. She did not answer my questions and spent about 3 minutes with me in the room. She also put me on a birth control that I specifically did not ask for and it became a whole ordeal. Would not recommend.
I was incredibly nervous as this was my first OBGYN appt. I've been avoiding it for several years due to fear. However, Dr. Gabbay and her staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel completely at ease. I felt listened to and cared for. I will be much less fearful now of future appointments.

Had an IUD consult held via telehealth and it was awesome! I was able to discuss the procedure and my medical history and make a plan for the insertion visit, all from my own home and under 10 minutes. Dr. Gabbay is very knowledgeable and friendly, very excited to have found her.

I went in for for a routine pap smear with Dr. Gabbay and everything went as smoothly as it could've gone. She has great bedside manner and really took the time to listen and thoroughly answer any questions or concerns I had. She's also the first gynecologist I've been to who took the time to research the current birth control I was on and then followed up with a phone call with more information. I would definitely go back to her.

Just got back from my first appt with Dr. Gabbay. Everything about this appointment was delightful. Front desk was helpful, the medical assistant that took me back was thorough and sweet. Dr. Gabbay was wonderful, I felt she listened to my concerns and replies to her questions, she addressed my concerns and had a smile on my face the entire appointment - something i can say has never happened at any other Gyno appt ive been to! Excited to have found her and I have already reccomended her to friends and family and its only been a couple hours since my appointment.
