Sarton Weinraub, Ph.D.
I have been in practice in New York City for over 25 years and have worked with clients from many diverse backgrounds and experiences to help them overcome trauma, anxiety, and depression.
In today's world, technology, remote work, and chronic stress have contributed to epidemics of burnout, decision fatigue, loss of sense of self and self-direction, isolation, loneliness, and difficulty navigating relationships. My clients and I work together to overcome these challenges so that they can become more focused, confident, engaged, and motivated.
My therapeutic approach emphasizes deep empathic listening, non-judgmental acceptance, and genuineness -- which are the tenets of Person-Centered or Client-Centered Psychology, established by Carl Rogers. I also integrate Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral, as well as Humanistic psychotherapies. As a psychologist, I honor your unique intelligence and capacity for self-directed growth.
I go beyond industrialized mental health treatment, which is overly focused on medication and diagnosis, to explore anxiety, depression, and other behaviors and patterns from their roots. I believe in the healing powers of empathy and human relationships. I encourage my clients to relate, embrace, and engage, to overcome their trauma and isolation.
