Shai Erlichman Therapy

Shai Erlichman, LCSW, is a licensed social worker in the state of New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Clark University and a master’s degree in Social Work from the New York University Silver School of Social Work. While earning his master’s degree, Mr. Erlichman received psychodynamic training at the National Institute for the Psychotherapies. Mr. Erlichman works with adolescents, adults, and couples. He incorporates a range of approaches tailored to meet the needs of each client, including mindfulness-based interventions, CBT, and relational therapy. Mr. Erlichman’s clients enter therapy looking to address a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, complex trauma, grief and loss, career transitions, and challenges in relationships. Bringing a spirit of kindness and honesty to each therapeutic relationship, Mr. Erlichman supports his clients toward awareness, insight, healing, and growth. He views therapy as a beneficial space to explore aspects of one’s perspectives, patterns, and behaviors. He is passionate about de-pathologizing and normalizing mental health challenges, as well as examining how race, culture, sexuality, social class, and age shape our individual and collective life experiences.

Shai is a very attentive listener and creates space to talk. However, I found the sessions to include long pauses and a more passive style than I was looking for. I was hoping for more engagement, feedback, and insight during discussions about my relationship dynamics. This may be a good fit for someone who prefers a quieter, reflective approach, but it wasn’t the right match for me.
