Dr. Shalom was kind, honest and extremely helpful. She has an immense amount of knowledge. She gave me great advice, and did not try to oversell on anything. She also fixed 2 surface fillings which needed to done and she did them while I was there, which was unexpected, and I was very happy for it and I am pleased with the results.

It was my first time seeing a dentist since I moved to the city, and I will definitely be a regular visiter at Dr. Ohevshalom's dentistry office. Very welcoming and comfortable office space, friendly and professional staff.

After not visiting the dentist in years, I was nervous about my initial appointment. Riva knew my name and was warm and inviting as soon as I walked in the door. After taking care of a small insurance issue, I was immediately brought into the examination room. Dr. Ohevshalom was pleasant and informative. She didn't try to lecture me about not seeing a dentist in so long, but was upfront and direct about what she was doing and what needed to be done at a follow-up appointment. They were also conscientious about what my insurance covers to ensure I would receive the necessary treatment without paying out of pocket. I highly recommend, especially for anyone apprehensive about visiting the dentist.

In 2015, I was looking for an in-network Met Life dentist and Dr. Ohevshalom came up as in-network. Apparently, this was only partially true - her Brooklyn office was in-network but not her Upper West Side (UWS) office. I was seeing her at her UWS office so I was surprised at the large bill. I went in for an exam, cleaning, and one filling and the bill exceed my insurance limit for the year. When I complained, her office said don't worry about it since they take whatever the insurance will pay which was about 60% of the total billed - meaning they didn't pursue the additional amounts - and they didn't pursue the excess. If the services were in network, the fees would have been substantially less than the 60% of their bill my insurance . Basically, I got the feeling this dentist was trying to exhaust my insurance as fast as she could.

Dr. Ohevshalom is a very good dentist. She is honest and forthright. She told me the facts I needed to know about a procedure that I have to have done, in a straightforward way. I recommend her highly.

Not good. First time seeing this dentist and she tried to push extra services (not covered by insurance) on me. She said I had gum issues (I'm in my twenties and never heard this from another dr before), then when I refused the additional treatment, she said at the end of the cleaning that it may not be an issue after all and she'll just see if it there's any difference the next time. I won't be back. She also tried to push me to have 4 cleanings a year (again, not covered by insurance). And she cleaned my teeth herself rather than having a hygienist do it, which I thought was odd, and she was a lot rougher than what I'm used to, to the point that it was outright painful at times. I will not be going back and do not recommend at all.

Dr. Ohevshalom was very nice, very patient. She took the time to explain all the procedures that I needed and if the procedures was covered by insurance or not. The office was very clean , modern and cozy. The receptionist was pleasant and professional. I found a new family dentist.

She's an amazing person. She's nice and sweet and she tells the truth. She doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. She always makes sure it's easier for you. She focuses on your budget and makes sure she could do all she can. She goes the extra mile to make your teeth look good. It was a pleasure being in her office today. She is swift and professional. I'm glad I found her!

The dental hygienist was super friendly and took her time with me, however, Doris was very dismissive and barely checked on me. She was in my mouth for maybe 20 seconds before stating I had no cavities, which might be the case but I didn't even feel her test my upper teeth. She tried to sell me on braces and once I told her I was seeking elsewhere for them, she became very stand offish and didn't really address my issues at hand. Also, this was by far the most painful dental cleaning I've ever had in my life! Definitely will not be coming back.

Way overcharged me, and my insurance. Then met a friend who experienced the same thing. Kept saying that they couldn't tell me how much my procedures would cost until the insurance approved it, though this was not the case. I will not go back based on this alone. Dr. Ohevshalom was competent in her work, though the over-charging and dishonesty in this practice are enough to make you stay far away.

I was very, very pleased. She was very calming, as was her lovely assistant! I was super nervous because I had been to two dentists before and both refused to do the root canal because I had a crown. Somehow Dr. Ohevshalom was not only willing and experienced enough to do it but she went in on the side and saved the crown!! And painlessly besides. I am so glad I went to her. And will go to her for sure for any future root canals.

While my wife keep telling the doc she only wanted to wash her teeth, the doctor did a lot of extra procedure e.g. check teeth cancer and etc. The bill end up four digits, and the insurance refused to pay most of them.
