It was a pre-op office visit.
About the office first.
Great clean office on new Stamford hospital campus. Everything that is needed for a patient preparing for foot surgery.
This office is very suitable for post-op visits for a patient who needs to stay completely off the operated foot for 4 weeks.
I highly recommend this office of Dr. Weiss.
Now about the visit and Dr. Weiss.
I couldn’t be happier with my visit.
Dr. Weiss explained everything about my surgery very clearly. He made me feel at ease. Dr. Weiss explained the need for all my medications very convincingly. He showed understanding of my problems with one of the prescribed medications and was very helpful in resolving them.
My surgery is tomorrow and I share Dr. Weiss’ confidence in its results.

This was my first visit to Dr. Weiss.
The office of a foot doctor is located on the third floor of a building without elevator. It is ironic and very unfortunate.
The building hallway and staircase are very unpleasant to say the least. Very uninviting.
I can’t even imagine how a patient after foot surgery will be able to climb to the third floor using a staircase.
I even thought about finding another podiatrist, but the office staff is very good and efficient, and I liked the doctor.
Dr. Weiss can do my surgery pretty soon, and this is important to me because of pain. The surgery will be done at Tully center, which is has a very good surgery center. So I think I will have to deal with the stairs in the office.
Other than the building, I am happy with my visit.

I have seen this doctor before in Darien and this was my first Staford visit. Very comfortable. Everything was good except that the Stamford hospital office did not have the ability to take an x ray. The Darien office has x rays capability .

The doctor is friendly and highly skilled.
The office staff were somewhere between disinterested and rude.
For example, when I walked in, the waiting room had no patients. There were three staff behind the reception counter. When I walked up to the counter and said hello, it took 30+ seconds for them to acknowledge me. They also said uploading my insurance card to zocdoc “didn’t count” and it felt like I did something wrong. They asked if it was my first time at the doctor when surely their records would reflect that I’ve been going there for 20 years.
The technician who brought me to the exam room got me seated in the exam chair then a few seconds later said, “no, come with me.” It wasn’t clear why or where we were going. She brought me to the X-ray room but I pointed out I didn’t need an X-ray for my condition.
Just not a pleasant experience other than the doctor himself who is quite skilled and engaging.

Dr. Weiss resolved my minor foot problem - a corn forming - quickly and completely. It’s also a pleasure to talk to him about any other podiatrist problems I have.

Dr. Weiss saw my daughter and was very thorough in his exam. His diagnosis was spot on after he confirmed it with an x-ray. He explained everything very well and advised my daughter on her treatment thereafter. My daughter was reassured by him, as well as mom!
