Sloan Post
I seek to create a collaborative environment with you and focus on understanding your whole experience: past, present, and future. We address challenges by acknowledging your past, incorporating mindfulness and bolstering supportive relationships to increase well-being in the present, and, subsequently, shaping your outlook on the future. You choose the focus and set the pace as we explore how your patterns of behavior are shaped by your life experiences, and what that means for you going forward.
We’ll work together to bolster your confidence, develop skills to manage stress, anxiety, and dysregulation, address past traumas, and strengthen supportive relationships and coping mechanisms.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults going through transitions and adjusting to life changes. I have a trauma-informed approach and have worked with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced a wide range of first or second-hand trauma.
I am trained in Perinatal Mental Health and enjoy supporting perinatal individuals through the often overwhelming journey of pregnancy and caring for young children. I also work with clients considering starting a family or making their’s bigger. I have training in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, a therapy model used to support children 0-5 and their caregiver(s) feel safer and more secure - including perinatal individuals, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, a therapy model used to help children and teens improve relationships and manage stress, and Internal Family Systems, a therapy model that focuses on harmonizing the many different parts of our internal experience. I am certified in delivering the Safe and Sound Protocol, which is helpful in strengthening regulation in children and adults.

Sloan Post has been very helpful speaking with my teen age children and helping them talk through issues or situations that they have faced. She is a very good listener, is very thoughtful about every interaction she has and everything that she says. She is sweet, caring, and empathetic but at the same time extremely knowledgeable and experienced. I highly recommend her.

As a colleague of Sloan's, I respect and admire her as a therapist. She is deeply invested in her clients' healing, and attuned to their needs. Sloan has continued training in modalities that give her skills for working with children and parents as well as with perinatal mothers and other adults. Sloan is a warm person whose empathy and humor make her easy to connect with.
