Sophia A. Sandoval-Meyer, LCSW Psychotherapy

I am a state licensed psychotherapist in Orange County, California. I have been in the field for over twenty years, providing therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. I specialize in grief and loss, attachment issues, trauma/abuse, adoptee issues, parenting strategies, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, social skills, and young adult issues. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California, and I hold specialized certifications in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Adoption and Permanency Curriculum (ACT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I offer both in-person and telehealth counseling services to support the diverse needs of my clients. My passion is helping individuals achieve their goals within a safe, structured, and compassionate environment. I approach therapy with empathy, non-judgment, and a deep commitment to supporting each client on their unique journey. My work focuses on fostering self-awareness and insight, which often leads to meaningful, positive changes in clients' lives. I also believe that the therapeutic relationship itself can be a powerful agent of healing, facilitating growth and transformation. I draw on a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches tailored to each client’s needs, including Attachment-Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Control Mastery Theory, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and EMDR-Adaptive Information Processing (AIP). This integrative approach allows me to address the whole person, supporting emotional, mental, and behavioral well-being.
