Spine Medicine & Surgery is a multidisciplinary practice specializing in comprehensive spine care and pain management. Our fellowship-trained team offers advanced, evidence-based surgical and nonsurgical treatments, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques and individualized care to improve function and quality of life. Dr. Choi has extensive experience in the treatment of the entire spectrum of cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine disorders. His special interests include microsurgery, minimally invasive interbody fusions, revision surgery, and robotic spinal surgery. He has authored numerous articles and textbook chapters and has presented his research at both national and international spine surgical meetings. Dr. Choi's guiding philosophy is simple: every patient is treated as if he were treating his own family member, with compassion and respect. His goals are to ensure that his patients understand all aspects of their condition and to explore all possible nonoperative treatments prior to considering surgery. In his free time, Dr. Choi enjoys exploring all that Long Island has to offer with his physician wife and two daughters.

Over an hour wait even when I was called to come sooner, didn’t see the doctor I scheduled (saw a PA instead) and did not receive the paperwork I submitted via Zocdoc so had to redo in office. The MA was great but felt rushed with the pa and disappointed to not see the doctor I booked with.

Gret appointment with great doctor! Dr. Toombs answered all my concerns and provided me with referrals for treatments I needed. I booked an appointment last minute the night before so I did call in the next day (day of) to confirm since not even 24hrs of notice was given, they saw me that day and did not postpone which is amazing considering how busy doctor’s can be! Wait time prior was minimal too which was impressive :)

Seemed to be a lot of confusion and back and forth about my appointment. I had one email saying one date and time and another saying a different one. I had to call to confirm. Then via a reminder text it mentions seeing a PA-C that I booked with. But during another reminder text after that it was with the actual Dr in which I did book with. When I show up they seemed confused asking me multiple times my name at check in. Finally check in and turns out I am seeing a PA-C which I have no issue with but it was the back and forth that annoyed me. I’ve been to plenty of doctors in my life and I know how many questions are asked but it kind of felt like the questions being asked were redundant and and not needed. How many times can someone ask if you have bladder issues, because I was asked 4 times in total. Was given a script for PT and an MRI at the same time with follow up in a week to go over MRI. As if I’ll get into an MRI in a week. But let’s do PT without actually knowing the injury?
