Spring Branch Community Health Center (SBCHC) is a private, non-profit community health center providing quality, affordable healthcare services to the underserved and uninsured communities of Spring Branch and West Houston. SBCHC was developed to reduce area health disparities by creating a neighborhood-based health center and by providing comprehensive primary health care services that are culturally competent, linguistically appropriate and client-driven in a location easily accessible to public transportation. SBCHC was formed in 2003 and began providing comprehensive health care services to indigent and low-income patients in the Spring Branch community in May 2004. Designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in September 2005, SBCHC offers medical care, mental health, dental care to both children and adults, no matter what your income.

Office was decent and close to my home. However Dr.Soorty refused to listen to me about my sons health condition that he was diagnosed with in 2024 from previous Doctor. She told me that she would not write Asthma medication without her being the one to diagnose after my son had just gotten out of the emergency room for an asthma attack. When trying to give clear explanation of his history with this issue I was shushed and told that she was not talking to me she was talking to my child, she then told me there was no diagnosis on his ER papers when in fact there was, instead of her admitting her error because she did not look she told me " oh this is where it is for your reference" this happened twice during appointment. Ultimately we left with a referral to pulmonary DR with an appt in JULY so Ill be back and forth to the ER getting medication refills until then due to her turning down medicating him, 2 days after appt kid back in ER. She was not understanding and did not listen.

Dr. Ekweani is such a blessing. It is extremely difficult to find black doctors who accept Medicaid. She has excellent bedside manners and is very patient. I felt confident that my baby received the best care after each visit. If you choose Dr. Ekweani you will not be disappointed.

I have been trying to find a new Dr for my two year old autistic son. This experience was great for both of us. Everyone was polite. The nurse was very patient and creative while trying to get stats for my son. The Dr made the appointment feel like a playdate and eased my son's fears and also was very aware of his sensory issues

Office was clean, front desk staff was very sweet. Was brought back fairly quickly. Just gave birth to my daughter so this was her first appointment. Dr. Bishop did a phenomenal job answering all questions and explaining their process. They even were kind enough to give me an infant care package on my way out. Will most certainly be returning and she will likely remain my child’s pediatrician.

This place is far from my home but I was in dire need of a pediatrician that actually cares about my child and that’s exactly what I found. Dr. Ross was amazing, she listened to my concerns and met every need and then some! My appointment was at 3:15 I was out by 3:49. Needless to say, if Dr. Ross moved across the country, I would be making that drive.
