The Squirrel Wrangling Approach: My Core Philosophy
I've built my practice on a transformative metaphor that resonates deeply with accomplished women and high-performing professionals. Those racing thoughts, the constant mental chatter, the 'what-if' spirals, the obsessive planning at 2 AM—I call them your 'inner squirrels.' They're not a character flaw or a pathology; they're simply scattered neural patterns seeking organization and direction.
My philosophy centers on transforming shame into strategy and scattered energy into sustainable success. Unlike approaches that pathologize anxious thinking or demand you 'just fix it,' the Squirrel Wrangling Method honors the intelligence driving your racing mind while teaching you to gently guide those thoughts toward genuine calm and actionable clarity. When you can wrangle your inner squirrels, you move from survival mode to an authentic sense of peace—and you finally get to enjoy and take credit for the success you've worked so hard to build.
This is not positive thinking. This is not dismissing your legitimate concerns. This is strategic cognitive organization paired with nervous system regulation and values alignment.
My Unique Point of Distinction: The Accomplished Woman's Paradox
I specialize in the hidden cost of external success.
You appear to have everything together on the outside. You're the responsible one, the capable one, the person everyone calls when they need something handled. On your professional resume, you're documented. On social media, you're aspirational. At work, you're the person who gets promoted.
Yet internally, you're battling:
Anxiety that doesn't match your accomplishments
Self-doubt despite proven track records
Persistent imposter syndrome
Sleep disruption from racing thoughts and worry cycles
Feeling fundamentally inauthentic in spaces where you 'should' be confident
Deep disconnection from your own needs and desires
Terror about what might unravel if you stop performing so hard
Relational distance even with people closest to you
This paradox—where external success masks internal struggle—is exactly where my expertise sits. I work specifically with women in their 30s, 40s, and 50s, and increasingly with midcareer professionals of all genders who are leaders, entrepreneurs, creators, clinicians, and high-achievers experiencing the real psychological toll of operating from a false sense of self.
I bring 30 years of clinical and coaching experience across multiple modalities, extensive knowledge of evidence-based interventions, trauma-informed practice, and a specialized understanding of how societal messaging, perfectionism, and role expectations create the stuck patterns I see in my therapy and coaching rooms.
The three outcomes I help clients achieve are:
Authentic Connections: Rebuild genuine relationships with yourself and others without the performance mask
Full Congruency: Align your inner truth with your outer life so you're not running two separate systems
Embracing Change: Transform from fearing change or resisting it to seeing it as evidence of your own evolution and growth
Clinical Methods & Evidence-Based Frameworks
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all treatment. Instead, I maintain mastery across multiple evidence-based approaches and customize them to match your neurotype, history, and goals:
Trauma-Informed Clinical Work:
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Processing for past wounds that still influence current patterns
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) for rapid nervous system reset and memory reconsolidation
Polyvagal-informed approaches to understand your nervous system responses
Internal Family Systems work for identifying and dialoguing with protective parts
Somatic experiencing for working with trauma stored in the body
Attachment-based therapy to heal relational patterns rooted in early relationships
Behavioral & Cognitive Methods:
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness
CBT/CBC (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Coaching) for systematic thought pattern interruption and replacement
Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) for clarifying your deepest values and building a life aligned with them
Behavioral activation for moving past paralysis and depression
Exposure work for anxiety hierarchies (when appropriate)
Applied Relaxation and progressive muscle relaxation
Systems & Relational Approaches:
Family Systems and Bowenian theory to understand your role in multigenerational patterns
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples and attachment relationships
Communication coaching grounded in Nonviolent Communication principles
Narrative therapy to externalize problems and examine the stories you tell about yourself
Motivational Interviewing to honor your autonomy while building readiness for change
Specialized Coaching Certifications & Advanced Methods:
Spiral Dynamics® Change Readiness Index® — This assessment identifies exactly where you are in your readiness for change, your current worldview structure, and the specific interventions that will work with your psychology (rather than against it). Using this, I create personalized change playbooks that actually work because they're designed for how your brain currently operates.
Certified Master Practitioner in Integrative Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) — This allows me to identify and interrupt limiting beliefs, access subconscious resources you didn't know you had, reframe problems, improve communication patterns, and create rapid behavioral change without requiring years of processing.
Mental Emotional Release® (MER®) Practitioner — This breakthrough session work helps you become genuinely unstuck in any life area: family trauma, relationship patterns, career limiting beliefs, health behaviors, financial blocks, spiritual disconnection, and more. MER® works directly with the emotional charge attached to limiting memories, creating actual release rather than just understanding.
Clinical Hypnotherapy — Accessing your subconscious mind directly to: reframe limiting beliefs, reset trauma responses, improve sleep architecture, manage chronic pain, access creative resources, and address psychosomatic symptoms that don't respond to other approaches.
VitalSpark® Adaptive Leadership Coaching — Specialized training for leaders navigating complex organizational change, building resilient teams, managing their own nervous systems under pressure, and making decisions congruent with their values rather than reactive patterns.
Certified Trainer & Advanced Practitioner in personality assessment and communication style frameworks including:
Working with enneagram types and the psychological defenses of each
Personality style recognition for interpersonal communication
Attachment styles and how they show up in relationships and leadership
Specialized Clinical Competencies
Anxiety disorders across the spectrum (generalized anxiety, social anxiety, performance anxiety, health anxiety, relationship anxiety)

Delivery & Accessibility
Flexibility meets access: I provide therapy and coaching across multiple platforms—Alma, Sondermind, Headway, Calmerry, ZocDoc—so you can access clinical care that works with your schedule, insurance coverage, and platform preferences. I maintain presence across these networks so you can choose where it's easiest for you.
Teletherapy is not a compromise. Online clinical care removes transportation barriers, allows you to be in a comfortable space, respects your privacy, and fits into actual life. I've been providing high-quality teletherapy since well before the pandemic made it standard, and I maintain the same clinical rigor, presence, and attention whether meeting virtually or in person.
Session flexibility: I accommodate early morning, evening, and weekend sessions for working professionals. First appointments move quickly—typically scheduled within 1-2 weeks.
Currently developing: Intensive VIP Days for small groups of leaders, quarterly masterminds for ongoing coaching clients, and specialized workshops on anxiety management, sleep optimization, and perfectionism recovery.

What Sets This Practice Apart
Depth meets accessibility. You get someone with 30 years of clinical training and advanced certifications, not a generalist. You also get someone who believes therapy shouldn't feel clinical or distant—it should feel like talking with someone who actually understands what you're going through.
I treat the system, not just the symptom. Anxiety doesn't exist in isolation. It's connected to how you relate to yourself, your family patterns, your nervous system state, what you believe about your safety and worth, and how aligned you are with your actual values. Real change addresses all these levels simultaneously.
You're not broken; you're unorganized. The metaphor matters. You haven't failed—your inner squirrels just need direction. This reframe alone shifts many clients' entire relationship to their healing work.
I meet you in both/and, not either/or. You can feel anxious AND capable. You can be successful AND need support. You can want to change AND be afraid of it. My job is helping you integrate those seeming contradictions, not pick a side.
Telehealth + flexibility + real credentials = actual access to quality care. You shouldn't have to choose between finding a good therapist and keeping your actual life intact.
The Bottom Line
If you don't remember your tomorrow—if you haven't clearly envisioned the future you're actually building rather than the one you think you 'should' want—you won't have the right formula for today. You'll keep running on someone else's wheel, using someone else's map, performing someone else's version of success.
My work helps you:
Wrangle the scattered mental patterns keeping you stuck in anxiety and false performance
Clarify what actually matters to you independent of external expectations
Step into the peace, authenticity, and sustainable success that's been waiting for you all along
You don't have to choose between achievement and well-being. You don't have to choose between caring about success and caring about your mental health. You don't have to keep sacrificing peace for performance.
That's what this work is about.
Ready to get started? First appointments move quickly, and I specialize in helping clients hit the ground running—real change visible in the first few sessions.
