Life isn’t meant to be this hard. If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck in patterns you can’t shake, or grieving a painful loss, you don’t have to go through it alone. Therapy with me is a collaborative, results-driven process designed to help you feel lighter, calmer, and more connected — so you can move through life with more confidence and peace.
Who I Work With
I work with adults, ages 25 and up, who want relief from anxiety, depression, grief, or relationship struggles and who are ready for meaningful change.
Many of my clients are thoughtful, capable, and outwardly successful. They’re professionals, caregivers, and creatives who often seem to “have it all together” on the outside but privately feel anxious, drained, or disconnected. If that’s you, I want you to know: there is a way forward.
Common concerns I support include:
Anxiety in all its forms — generalized worry, panic, social anxiety, performance anxiety
Depression and low mood — feeling unmotivated, hopeless, or unable to enjoy life
Grief and loss — from the death of a loved one to endings of relationships or roles
Life transitions — identity shifts, career change, divorce, caregiving stress
Relationship challenges — difficulty expressing needs, boundary struggles, patterns of conflict or withdrawal
Self-criticism — perfectionism, people-pleasing, imposter syndrome, low self-esteem
Burnout — from high-pressure careers, caregiving, or creative pursuits
Together we create a space where you can put the mask down, speak honestly about what you’re carrying, and start to feel hopeful again.
Specialties and Expertise
Generalized anxiety, panic, and chronic worry
Depression and persistent low mood
Grief, loss, and unresolved sorrow
Breakups, relationship and friendship transitions
Communication and boundary setting
Perfectionism, procrastination, and burnout
Social anxiety, performance anxiety, and imposter syndrome
Sleep issues and stress overload
Self-criticism and low self-esteem
My Approach
I use a structured, evidence-based model called TEAM-CBT, developed by Dr. David Burns at Stanford. TEAM stands for:
Testing — We track your mood and symptoms at the start and end of each session so you’ll see your progress in real numbers.
Empathy — Lasting change only happens when you feel understood. I bring warmth, humor, and genuine curiosity to our work.
Agenda Setting — We clarify what matters most to you and address any hesitations, so therapy always feels safe and collaborative.
Methods — You’ll learn practical tools that shift painful thoughts and patterns, often leading to noticeable improvement within 12 weeks.
TEAM-CBT is my foundation, but I also integrate other approaches when they fit your needs:
The 5 Secrets of Effective Communication to strengthen relationships and help you feel heard and respected.
Mindful Self-Compassion to quiet the inner critic and nurture self-kindness.
The Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM) to regulate the nervous system and heal trauma stored in the body.
Psychodynamic insights to understand deeper patterns and how your past shapes your present.
Sessions blend insight, emotional processing, and hands-on strategies you can use right away. Between sessions, I may give you short, practical exercises so progress continues outside the therapy room. Clients often tell me this mix helps them feel grounded, empowered, and hopeful faster than they expected.
What to Expect in Therapy
Therapy with me is structured but never rigid. Each week you will:
Complete a quick mood check to see what’s working and what still feels stuck.
Review progress together — what helped, what didn’t, and where you’d like to go next.
Practice proven methods to calm anxiety, lift mood, and strengthen communication.
Leave with tools you can apply in your daily life.
Clients describe my style as compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I believe in balancing heart and humor — therapy can be a place of tears, but also of laughter, lightness, and relief.
Why Clients Choose Me
Clients often share that they value my balance of structure and empathy. They appreciate that therapy has a clear roadmap with measurable progress, while also feeling deeply seen and supported.
Many have tried traditional talk therapy before and felt stuck. With TEAM-CBT, they finally experience momentum — less worry, more energy, better sleep, and stronger connections. Some reach full recovery from anxiety or depression. Others describe feeling more alive, confident, and free to show up as themselves.
My Beliefs About Healing
We all carry contradictions. Therapy helps you make sense of them.
Relationships can heal when you have the right tools.
You deserve freedom — from relentless self-criticism, from anxiety that runs your life, from patterns that no longer serve you.
Change is possible. With support, structure, and practice, new ways of thinking and feeling can become second nature.
Pricing and Payment
Therapy is an investment in your well-being. Clients often tell me it pays off in stronger relationships, greater peace of mind, and renewed energy for the life they want.
Rate: $190 per 60-minute session
Payment Methods: Cash, Check, Venmo, Zelle
Debit, Credit, and HSA Cards: Accepted through Alma (2.4% + $0.30 fee)
Insurance: Superbills provided for out-of-network reimbursement. Clients can easily submit through Reimbursify, an app that simplifies claims.
Sliding Scale: Available for those experiencing financial hardship.
My Background
I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, and I’ve made Los Angeles my home for more than 15 years. My commitment to helping others started early — as a teenager, I volunteered to serve meals to those in need. That experience sparked a lifelong dedication to service and healing.
I earned my BA at the University of Oregon, served in AmeriCorps and Child Welfare, and spent a decade working in nonprofits and hospitals supporting children and adults with life-threatening illnesses. I completed my Master of Social Work at California State University, Northridge, with advanced training in grief, bereavement, and interpersonal partner violence.
My clinical foundation was built in adolescent and adult treatment centers for mental health and substance abuse, before moving into private practice where I could work more deeply and collaboratively with clients.
Becoming a therapist was not just a career choice but a personal calling. My own early experiences in therapy showed me how transformative it can be to sit with someone who listens without judgment and helps you find clarity and hope. My practice, More Fit Mental Health, is an extension of that vision.
Let’s Connect

I would be honored to walk with you.

Stephanie has been my therapist for a few months now, and I am happy to say that I've made a lot of progress with her. While the format is different from other talk therapy I've had before and took a good amount of getting used to, being a patient of this practice has helped me make tangible progress on relationship issues, anxiety, and depression. I could not recommend this practice more to someone looking to feel better!

I’m so happy I found Stephanie! She’s so versatile, warm, and helpful. I came to her for grief support but she’s equipped to help with such a wide range of issues. Stephanie provides the perfect balance of warmth and non-judgmental support while still being solution-oriented and dedicated to seeing me improve. She will not waste your time or money! As someone who wasn’t sure if TEAM CBT would apply to my situation initially, I can say it’s been so helpful on such a deep level. It’s such a valuable way to identify and reframe thought patterns and I think everyone could really benefit from it.
I’m prompted to give feedback at the end of each session, and Stephanie makes me feel totally comfortable doing so honestly. I feel like our sessions are completely tailored to my needs, even as they change on a weekly basis. I’ve never had this level of communication and customization with a therapist before and I’ve found it so valuable! Can’t recommend her enough!

I love working with Stephanie because she helps you work on what’s happening in your life in the here and now and how to change your patterns. The book she recommended opened my eyes to a new way of thinking and her “homework” assignments served to reinforce those lessons.
Stephanie has always made me feel heard and understood. With her guidance, I’ve able to let go of the anger and stress that had been overtaking my life. I highly recommend seeing Stephanie if you truly want to make positive changes in your world.

I worked with Stephanie from 23 to 29, some of the most formative years of my life, and I carry our work with me to this day. I often find myself pausing to ask, “What would Steph say?”
What made our time so powerful was the space she created—safe, secure, and deeply respectful. She made it possible for me to disagree openly. She had a way of gently pulling out my own patterns, helping me see myself more clearly, and challenging me when I needed to be pushed—while also allowing me space to just feel, without judgment or pressure to “fix” things right away.
Steph was my first experience of a secure attachment. She gave me courage to become the most empowered version of me. She helped me build resilience, authenticity, and self-trust that'll continue to serve me for a lifetime.
She'd often do work outside sessions to better support me—which made me feel truly valued. The balance she strikes between empathy, honesty, and skill is rare. My work with her is one of my greatest blessings.

I am so grateful for my time working with Stephanie. She is incredibly kind, personable, and always made me feel comfortable and supported. She went above and beyond to ensure I felt heard and understood, while also providing the structure I needed. Her use of cognitive behavioral therapy gave me practical tools and guidance that helped me grow in ways I never thought possible. Thanks to her approach, I was able to reach realistic and meaningful outcomes. I couldn’t recommend her more highly.

Working with Stephanie was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. She has a rare gift for creating a space that feels both safe and empowering, which allowed me to take on challenges I never thought I could face.
Her structured TEAM-CBT approach gave me concrete tools and strategies that actually worked — I was able to see real progress in areas that once felt impossible. Things like driving, flying, eating out, and even being alone had felt overwhelming, and through our work together, I experienced massive growth that changed my daily life. On top of that, Stephanie helped me navigate grief and my closest relationships with compassion, insight, and wisdom.
Stephanie is an extraordinary therapist and human being. Her combination of skill, warmth, and genuine care makes her one of a kind. I cannot recommend her highly enough — she truly changed my life, and I know she has the power to help countless others do the same.

Stephanie is incredibly caring and empathetic but also pragmatic. I came in with one clear goal and her structured approach helped me accomplish it quickly. Additionally, she helped me realize the many areas of my life that I could think about and approach differently. She supported my growth throughout incredibly challenging family dynamics, career changes, relationship hurdles, and depressive symptoms. After working with Stephanie, I am more in tune with my body and emotions than ever. I have a massive toolkit of strategies for settling my mind when anxious or depressive thoughts creep in. This is because she would recommend I try pragmatic things outside our session time (e.g. journaling, mindfulness, lifestyle changes, etc.) and I would give it a shot - not realizing the profound impact it could have. I trust Stephanie immensely, and as someone who came into therapy with "trust issues" that's saying a lot! I couldn't recommend Stephanie more; she changed my life for the better!

After a back-and-forth discussion I recognized that Stephanie was a very good listener. She then followed up with several questions that caused me to think about my concerns in a different way. This was helpful in me overcoming what I realized was a static mindset. Her approach expanded my own thinking. I think she is a good therapist by guiding the client to self examination for an understanding of their issues.

I came to Stephanie Morfitt at a tricky time in my life. My life was not going in the direction that I woul wanted it to and my worst fears were coming true. My internal monolog and headspace was starting to do me physical harm and I needed a path out.
I had not attended therapy before. I figured a therapist/therapy would just hear out my problems and help me change my perspective and find "whats wrong". Stephanie introduced me to the world of cognitive behavioral therapy. This method of therapy taught me the tools for feeling better, changing perspectives and taught me to question the internal monologs that were doing me harm. Ontop of this, I found Stephanie ultra caring, interested and "real" with me. She was the perfect tour guide to the world of therapy for me.
Therapy as a whole can be expensive. The type of therapy Stephanie provided really encourages (and requires) you to do most of the work outside of the therapy itself. I found the overall experience worth the investment.

Stephanie has changed my life completely. I have been a client of hers for about 7 years now and she has been with me through so many hardships and celebrations. Stephanie is the kind of therapist that truly cares about her job. I have always felt empathy, safety, comfort, unconditional care, and support from her. It feels like I have had a second mom (that I can tell everything to without any bias) throughout this journey with. That is an example of how much love she gives to her clients. She’s there to listen and comfort, but also there to truly help you grow and become a person. I truly don’t know where I would be without her.

From the moment I met Stephanie, I felt completely at ease and comfortable opening up. She is warm, caring, understanding, and truly attentive, creating a safe and supportive space. The TEAM-CBT method has been a complete game changer in helping me move toward my goals and it’s the first approach that has given me such powerful results. I used to describe myself as feeling like I was constantly under a rain cloud, but now I feel bright, energized, and optimistic. I’m able to accomplish so much more and feel genuinely great overall. Working with Stephanie has been an incredible experience, and I cannot recommend her enough!

Stephanie comes with my highest recommendation. Stephanie brings a unique combination of heartfelt compassion, genuine warmth, and keen clinical insight to each and every session. She has been an incredible resource in guiding and supporting me through many challenges over the past six years, including mental health struggles, chronic health diagnoses, and relationship challenges.
Through each of these challenges, Stephanie has both equipped me with the resources and helped me develop the skills I need to thrive. In the time I have worked with her, I have seen drastic improvement in my mental health and my ability to cope with life's challenges. Stephanie's TEAM-CBT approach helped me make concrete progress toward my goals, and her warmth, empathy, and compassion made the process of working toward those goals enjoyable.
I'm incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to work with a therapist as exceptionally skilled and compassionate as Stephanie.
