Stone Harbor Therapy

At Stone Harbor Therapy, I work primarily with women who may appear to be managing life well on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or simply not quite like themselves on the inside. Women often come to therapy during seasons of change—when relationships shift, motherhood becomes overwhelming, fertility or postpartum experiences bring unexpected emotions, the effects of trauma continue to surface, or life simply looks different than they thought it would. My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should be a place where you can speak openly without feeling judged, rushed, or expected to have everything figured out. I take time to understand not only what is difficult right now, but also the experiences, relationships, expectations, and patterns that may be contributing to how you feel. With more than three decades of clinical experience, I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused approaches. I don't believe therapy should feel like a formula, however. I tailor our work to the individual woman, her experiences, her personality, and what she hopes will be different in her life. Sometimes our work may involve understanding anxiety and learning ways to quiet an overactive mind. At other times, we may look at relationships, boundaries, self-esteem, parenting, grief, trauma, or the emotional weight of caring for everyone else while losing sight of yourself. Therapy can also be a place to navigate major transitions and begin figuring out who you are in a new season of life. I believe meaningful therapy includes more than simply managing symptoms. Together, we can look at what is happening beneath them, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop healthier ways of responding to yourself, your relationships, and the challenges in your life. Above all, I want therapy to feel human. There can be difficult conversations, but there can also be humor, perspective, relief, and moments when things finally begin to make sense. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood and supported while also helping you make meaningful changes outside of the therapy room. Stone Harbor Therapy provides virtual therapy for women, allowing you to meet from the privacy and comfort of your own space. Whether you're navigating anxiety, trauma, motherhood, fertility and postpartum concerns, relationships, or a significant life transition, you don't have to have everything figured out before beginning therapy. Sometimes therapy begins simply with knowing that something in your life needs to feel different. We can start there.
