Striped Serenity Counseling SVC

Striped Serenity specializes in supporting queer, neurodivergent, and chronically ill teens through middle adults navigate challenges with self-esteem, stress, mood disorders, and trauma. There are many transitions throughout the teens, 20’s, and 30’s. Young adulthood can feel overwhelming and uncertain, but it can become far more manageable—and meaningful—with the right support. In your first session, we'll explore your history and create a plan together. Many clients notice improvement within a month. Striped Serenity focuses on tailoring therapy to each person's unique needs. Dena often draws from mindfulness, narrative, cognitive behavioral, trauma-informed, and acceptance and commitment approaches. Your input matters, please express any preferences, questions, or concerns you may have. Dena has over 15 years experience helping people overcome their struggles and reach their goals. Dena earned her Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. Following graduation, she completed her internship in Los Angeles, CA. She went on to practice in Los Angeles, San Diego, and Phoenix before returning to the upper Midwest. She is a Board Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with certifications in trauma informed and mindfulness informed care. Dena is licensed in Iowa and Illinois.
