We offer comprehensive diagnostic psychiatric evaluations, which include: Psychopharmacological treatment. Individual and family Psychotherapy. Coordination with Medical and Mental Health Professionals. Specialized Psychiatric services are provided to children, adolescents and adults with Developmental Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorders through various agencies and organizations. Individual referrals are also welcomed. Substance Abuse Treatment with focus on relapse prevention, individualized therapy and Suboxone Maintenance. Psychiatric treatment including specific therapies and medication stabilization for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury.

The doctor was not interested in my problem. Instead of giving me a prescription, he told me to go buy it off the street.
It was my daughters first visit, so far she likes him. It is hard to tell at this point but she liked the visit so far
He is very kind and take time and listen your problems. I am sure like me , all his patients will be very satisfied.

I have been seeing Dr. Ali for several years now and he has helped me so much. Dr. Ali and his wife (who is the office manager) are very kind and very professional. The most I've ever waiting in the waiting room is 10 minutes--and that is unusual. I recently began to take my 10yo daughter to Dr. Ali for therapy and was pleasantly surprised by how warm, welcoming, cheerful, and fun he was with her.

I've never had a more painless process when it comes to mental health management than I have with Dr & Mrs. Ali. First of all, he and his wife (at the front, I think) have very gruff and professional demeanors. It can be off-putting but when you look past it, these are the best people to work with and here's why: -Very understanding and flexible. I have ADHD and I am very forgetful when it comes to appointments. Plus, I commute from a different state, so their flexibility was very much appreciated. -I've never spent more than 30 minutes inside their office. It's heavenly. This office is ridiculously efficient. -I have had some weird situations while I was a patient with them. Change in job status, living arrangement, unexpected travel. Dr. Ali accommodated all of these situations with ease. -He's very open to finding the best treatment for you. Just be open and honest. I think he likes that. He also asks about you. Like, asks how you're feeling, what's new with you, stuff like that. He actually has a kind of serious but wellness concerned grandpa vibe. Some cons: - White Oak is super far from the NoVa & DC metropolitan area and getting there can be a massive pain. - Dr. Ali has moments when he disappears for extended periods of time. If you're unorganized like I am, this can be an issue. -The bedside manners need work but it can be overlooked. Just give Dr. Ali a shot after the first try and really pay attention to his subtleties. You can tell he cares.

Nothing special. Made a lot of assumptions and didn’t really have a bedside manner. But I went in knowing what I needed from working in the same field
He is fine if you just need someone to write your prescription. If you actually want someone to take the time and care to find out what is really going on, he's not the right doctor for you. Unfortunately, a good mental health care professional that takes insurance is extremely hard to find. If you want a therapist and/or psychiatrist that is actually going to help you, do yourself a favor and pay out of pocket.
Never waited so much to write a review.. first of all he is an awesome human, forget about his bed time manners or professionalism! He is just the best psychiatrist I have met till date! Trust me when I say I visited many!
