For nearly 60 years, patients have trusted Mendelson Kornblum Orthopedics (MKO) — founded in 1963 by the visionary Dr. Herbert Mendelson and now proudly part of Synergy Health Partners — for compassionate, world-class musculoskeletal care.
Dr. Mendelson’s story still guides everything we do. A Detroit native who paid his own way through Wayne State and the University of Michigan Medical School, he turned a high-school football injury into a lifelong mission to “fix what hurts.” With equal parts mechanical instinct and boundless empathy, he and co-founder Dr. Richard Hall built a practice where every patient felt respected and heard. That commitment to personal, patient-centered care remains our North Star.
What began as a single orthopedic clinic soon expanded to spine services and has since evolved into a full-service musculoskeletal network serving all of Southeast Michigan. Today MKO offers:
