Talk to Dr. Dom

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in stress and anxiety disorders, mood concerns, and LGBT-issues. My therapeutic style is warm, collaborative, and practical. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based approaches, integrating structured skills with present-moment awareness to help you reduce anxiety, gain clarity, improve your self-acceptance, and build long-term resilience. My approach is: Collaborative and nonjudgmental—we work as a team in a space where you are encouraged to come as you are, not as you think you should be. My most important role as a therapist is to foster an accepting, open environment where you feel seen and heard. Evidence-based (CBT, mindfulness-based CBT). The techniques I use have been proven effective by well-conducted research. Compassion-focused and trauma-informed - Your experience is unique, and my goal is to meet you where you are to help you find your way to a more peaceful existence. Personalized for your goals and your pace My style is a good fit for those who are ready to commit to learning new skills and setting concrete goals for meaningful change. Common concerns I treat include: Anxiety & worry Panic attacks Depression Perfectionism and overthinking Academic and performance anxiety Stress and burnout Insomnia Identity and self-esteem Life transitions Grief and loss A Bit More About Me: I hold a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota’s Institute of Child Development and a respecialization in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University (Bay Area). I completed specialized training working with LGBTQ+ clients at UCSF’s Alliance Health Project. I am a strong believer in body-based approaches, drawing from two decades of teaching yoga and mindfulness. I have a background in cognitive neuroscience, a long-standing mindfulness practice, and two decades of experience supporting people through anxiety, stress, and identity development. I currently offer: Telehealth sessions throughout California Individual therapy for adults (16+) I look forward to supporting you in creating more calm, balance, and clarity in your life.
