Talk with Diana
Methods and Philosophies
At Talk with Diana, our philosophy is simple: real change happens when people feel truly seen, heard, and understood, without judgment. We believe therapy isn't one-size-fits-all, and that the most effective care meets each client exactly where they are, whether that's a child who processes best through play, a teen who needs a judgment-free space to open up, or an adult navigating anxiety, burnout, or a major life transition.
Our Approach
We draw from a range of evidence-based and creative therapeutic methods, tailoring our approach to each individual rather than relying on a single framework. These include:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — helping clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns to build healthier coping strategies
Person-Centered Therapy — creating a warm, non-directive space where clients feel empowered to lead their own healing process
Trauma-Informed Practices — recognizing how past experiences shape present-day emotions and behaviors, and approaching every client with sensitivity to that history
Play Therapy — for younger children who process big feelings not through words, but through play, allowing them to express and work through emotions in a developmentally appropriate way
Strength-Based Parenting Support — equipping parents and caregivers with practical tools and emotional guidance, not just for their child's wellbeing, but their own
Solution-Focused Therapy — helping clients identify clear, actionable steps forward rather than staying stuck in a cycle of overwhelm
Mindfulness-Based Approaches — building present-moment awareness as a tool for managing anxiety, stress, and emotional regulation
Creative and Expressive Techniques — incorporating art, music, and other non-traditional modes of expression, especially valuable for teens and clients who don't process well through talk alone
Who We Work With
Our practice serves a wide range of clients across the lifespan:
Children, who benefit from play-based, developmentally appropriate techniques to process emotions they may not yet have words for
Teens, who are met with a judgment-free space to navigate big emotions, identity development, and major life transitions
Adults, working through anxiety, burnout, life transitions, and emotional overwhelm
Parents and caregivers, who receive strength-based strategies and support, not just for their children, but for their own wellbeing
Families and couples, working through communication challenges, transitions, and relational patterns
A Culturally Responsive Foundation
Cultural humility is not an afterthought in our work, it's foundational to it. Our clinicians bring real-world understanding of how mental health intersects with identity, generational experience, and community. We are especially mindful of the ways cultural background can shape a person's relationship with therapy itself, whether someone comes from a community where mental health support is normalized, or one where it carries stigma, and every client's story is met with respect, curiosity, and care.
Our team includes clinicians with diverse backgrounds and language capabilities, including Haitian Creole, allowing us to connect with clients in ways that feel authentic and comfortable for them.
Our Point of Distinction: Real Connection Over Clinical Distance
What sets Talk with Diana apart is our insistence that therapy should never feel cold, transactional, or overly clinical. Our founder built this practice on the belief that safe, genuine relationships are the foundation of real healing, a belief shaped by over 20 years spent supporting children, families, and educators in schools and community settings before opening this practice.
We are warm, direct, and deeply invested in the people we work with. We don't believe you need to have everything figured out before reaching out for support, you just need to take the first step. Whether a client walks through our doors overwhelmed, anxious, stuck in a cycle, or simply looking for a space to breathe and be themselves, our goal is the same: to help them find clarity and move forward with confidence, at their own pace, in a space where their voice is respected and their story is honored.

Diana has been a real help with my daily struggles. She's so easy to talk to, genuinely warm and never makes me feel judged. I always leave feeling a little lighter. So grateful to have her support.

I like that Diana is direct. She's kind about it, but she'll tell you the truth instead of just agreeing with everything I say.

Diana's great! Straightforward, easy to schedule with, and she gets right to what matters instead of wasting time. She's kind but also direct, which I appreciate; she'll tell you what she actually thinks rather than just nodding along. I've made solid progress since starting with her. Would recommend if you want someone practical and genuinely invested in helping you improve.

I really appreciate how easy Diana Grant makes it to open up. She’s genuinely kind and understanding, and I never feel judged or talked down to. What’s helped me the most is how she gently challenges my thinking and helps me see situations from a different perspective without making me feel wrong. It’s made a big difference in how I handle things day to day, and I’m grateful to be working with her.

I started seeing Diana Grant during a time when I felt pretty stuck, and I honestly didn’t know what to expect from therapy. What stood out to me early on was how she helped me put things into words that I hadn’t been able to explain on my own. She has a way of asking the right questions without pushing too hard, and that balance made it easier for me to actually engage in the process instead of shutting down.
Over time, I’ve noticed real changes in how I handle stress and how I think about certain situations. Diana is very grounded and practical, and she offers insights that feel useful in everyday life, not just during sessions. I also appreciate that she remembers details and follows up on things we’ve talked about, it shows she really cares about the work we’re doing together. I’m glad I found her and feel like I’ve made meaningful progress with her support.

I’ve had such a positive experience working with Diana Grant. From the very beginning, she stood out, not just for her professionalism, but for how genuinely kind and responsive she is. When I first reached out through Zocdoc, she got back to me quickly and was incredibly accommodating when I needed to adjust my schedule. That flexibility made a stressful situation feel manageable right away, and it really set the tone for everything that followed.
In our sessions, Diana has been patient, attentive, and easy to talk to. She creates a space where I don’t feel rushed or judged, which has made it much easier for me to open up. What I appreciate most is how thoughtful her responses are, she really listens and meets me where I’m at. I never feel like just another appointment on her calendar. I’m truly grateful for the support she’s given me and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who is both compassionate and reliable.

I've been seeing Tamara for a while now, and it's honestly made a real difference. What stands out most is how kind and genuinely present she is in every session, there's never a moment where I feel rushed or like I'm just another appointment on her schedule. She has a way of listening that makes it easy to be honest, even about the things that are hard to say out loud. Sessions feel thoughtful, not formulaic, and she seems to actually remember and care about what we've talked about before, which builds a real sense of trust over time. I've walked away from our conversations with a clearer head more times than I can count. If you're looking for someone who combines genuine warmth with real skill, I'd recommend Tamara without hesitation.
