Welcome to Teal Health Teal Health is a woman-led virtual healthcare company on a mission to make cervical cancer screening (often referred to as the Pap smear) easier, more comfortable, and more accessible for every woman who needs it. We created the Teal Wand™, the first FDA-authorized self-collection device for at-home cervical cancer screening in the U.S. Our care model pairs this device with a full telehealth experience, so you have a licensed Teal medical provider (OBGYN or NP) supporting you from your first visit through your results and any follow-up care. What Is At-Home Cervical Cancer Screening? At-home cervical cancer screening with the Teal Wand is a comfortable alternative to the traditional in-office exam with the speculum. It's recommended every 3 years for women ages 25 to 65, and it's how we catch HPV (the virus that causes nearly all cervical cancers) early, when it's most treatable. At-home screening is currently not recommended if you are pregnant, have a history of a LEEP/cold knife procedure, cancer in the reproductive system, or are immunocompromised. How it Works After a short virtual visit with a Teal provider (which you book through Zocdoc): Your kit is mailed to your door. You collect your own vaginal sample privately at home - no speculum, no stirrups, no waiting room - and mail it to a certified lab. Your sample is tested using the same FDA-approved Primary HPV test (Roche cobas®) used in doctors' offices, with the same accuracy. Your results appear in your secure Teal portal. If follow-up is needed, your Teal provider helps coordinate next steps. What to Expect After You Book Through Zocdoc Once you schedule a video visit through Zocdoc, you will be guided to complete two additional steps.
