Note to patients: Due to Texas scope of practice regulations for nurse practitioners, I am unable to prescribe schedule II controlled drugs to include stimulants such as Adderall or Ritalin.
I am a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner providing Telehealth psychiatric care in the State of Texas. I am also a Veteran of the U.S Army, which led me down the path to pursue practicing psychiatry.
My ideal patient is someone who is open to utilizing both medication treatment and lifestyle modifications. I take a holistic approach to psychiatry and believe that all aspects of a person's life should be considered before making a treatment decision. There are situations where a medication is not warranted, and I am okay with that. I never want you to feel like pharmaceuticals are being pushed onto you.
I am open and honest with you about what treatments I believe will help your unique situation the best. I say unique because psychiatric treatment should not be a "one size fits all" approach. At the end of a session you can expect me to discuss the risks and benefits of various suitable treatment options, then finally TOGETHER we establish a treatment plan.
