Dr. Joanna Ayoub is a highly-trained, board certified foot and ankle surgeon who provides a comprehensive approach to treatment. With over 16 years of experience, she also holds advanced ankle surgery privileges, a credential held by less than 1% of licensed podiatrists in New York State.
Dr. Ayoub is also a leading authority in minimally invasive bunion and hammertoe surgery, recognized as one of the foremost experts in MIS bunion and hammertoe surgery techniques. Her expertise enables patients to walk on the same day as the surgery, experiencing significantly reduced pain and a quicker recovery.
Dr. Ayoub is a native New Yorker who graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University prior to completing a 4-year program at New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She then completed rigorous training in a surgical residency at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel University, a level-1 trauma center in Philadelphia, PA, where she also served as Chief Resident. She is the former Director of the Podiatry Department at BronxCare Health System where she held that position for 10 years before venturing into private practice.
In her patient-centered, state-of-the-art practice, surgery is only considered after conservative therapy options have been exhausted. Alternative therapies can include laser treatment, physical therapy, pain management, strapping/padding, orthotics, and cutting-edge PRP/stem cell regenerative medicine techniques.

I’ve had lots of issues with my feet and have seen many doctors. Dr. Ayoub is the best by a mile. She cares, she’s incredibly knowledgeable, she’s clear, she doesn’t push for anything but explains all options with their puts and takes, and she’s very kind! She really took her time to answer all my questions and went into real detail! I felt very comfortable and well equipped with all the information I needed. The office is very clean! I really loved meeting Dr. Ayoub. She was extremely knowledgeable and was able to make recommendations for me. I’d definitely recommend calling the office in order to book your appointment, because I booked via ZocDoc and when I arrived they informed me that they were not in-network for my insurance. However, they were very nice and charged me the in network rate.
