Two Trees Counseling
If you are tired of putting everyone else first and neglecting your own well-being, I am here to help you change that. I believe in helping you build a kinder relationship with yourself, cultivate lasting self-esteem, and find your happiness again.
My name is Megan Hunt, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 7 years of experience. I provide collaborative, holistic, and deeply personalized online therapy for high school students, college-aged individuals, and adults navigating complex emotional and behavioral struggles.
What I Specialize In:
I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I provide targeted, specialized care to help you move past the specific pain points holding you back:
Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating: Helping you break free from chronic dieting, body dissatisfaction, restriction, bingeing, purging, and the constant, exhausting preoccupation with food and body shape.
Anxiety & Panic Disorders: Providing relief from persistent worrying, social anxiety, racing thoughts, panic attacks, and that constant feeling of being 'on edge.'
Depression & Self-Harm: Walking alongside you through the heaviest seasons—addressing chronic low mood, lack of motivation, feelings of isolation, and intense emotional pain or self-harming behaviors.
Life Adjustments & Young Adult Transitions: Supporting clients through the unique pressures of the college transition, identity exploration, boundary-setting, and building healthy relationships.
How We Will Work Together (My Techniques):
To ensure your care is truly tailored to you, I blend evidence-based talk therapy with body-centered, holistic modalities:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): We will work to identify, understand, and disrupt the negative, automatic thought loops that fuel anxiety, depression, and disordered eating patterns.
Humanistic Therapy: A warm, entirely non-judgmental, person-centered approach focused on tapping into your inherent strengths, practicing radical self-acceptance, and treating yourself like the valuable person you are.
Somatic Techniques: Because anxiety and distress are physically stored in the body, we will use body-awareness and nervous system regulation to help you release physical tension, manage the physical symptoms of panic, and safely reconnect with your physical self.
As a telehealth specialist licensed in Vermont, Virginia, and Florida, I am dedicated to helping clients skip the months-long waiting lists and access high-quality, virtual care right when they need it most.
My Approach & Specialties
My clinical philosophy is centered around a collaborative, holistic, and deeply personalized approach to care. I believe in being your advocate, walking alongside you through life's struggles, and helping you cultivate a kinder, gentler relationship with yourself. I specialize in treating:
Eating Disorders & Disordered Eating
Anxiety & Panic Disorders
Depression & Self-Harm
Self-Esteem, Self-Image, & Identity
Life Adjustments & College/Young Adult Transitions
I believe that healing and recovery come from treating the whole person, rather than just the symptoms. That's why I focus on understanding your unique experience and the root causes of your struggles. With empathy, respect, and non-judgmental support, I help you explore your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors and create strategies to improve your mental health.
My process is designed to be flexible and responsive to your needs and preferences. Whether you prefer cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, or a combination of approaches, I will work with you to find the most effective treatment plan for you.
My goal is to empower you to build the skills, self-awareness, and confidence you need to overcome your eating disorder or anxiety and lead a fulfilling life. So, if you're ready to take the first step towards a brighter future, please don't hesitate to reach out. I am here to help you.
