UNITY NEUROBEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Unity Neurobehavioral Health is a specialty psychology practice focused on helping patients and families better understand complex cognitive, behavioral, emotional, and developmental concerns. Our philosophy is that a high-quality evaluation should do more than determine whether someone meets criteria for a diagnosis. It should explain the pattern of strengths and difficulties a person is experiencing, identify the factors most likely contributing to those concerns, and provide a practical roadmap for what to do next. Evaluations are therefore individualized to the referral question rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all testing battery. Depending on the clinical concern, assessment may examine attention and executive functioning, learning and memory, intellectual and academic abilities, language, processing speed, visuospatial functioning, emotional and personality factors, adaptive functioning, and other areas relevant to everyday life. A particular emphasis is placed on careful differential diagnosis. Similar symptoms can arise from very different causes, including ADHD, learning disorders, autism and other developmental differences, neurological conditions, traumatic brain injury or concussion, sleep problems, mood or anxiety symptoms, trauma, medical conditions, and combinations of these factors. Understanding those distinctions can meaningfully change treatment and recommendations. The practice also emphasizes culturally and linguistically informed care, including services in English and Spanish when clinically appropriate. Findings are communicated in clear, accessible language, with recommendations designed to be specific, realistic, and useful across healthcare, school, work, treatment, and daily life. The objective is not simply to provide a label, but to provide clarity, context, and a thoughtful path forward.
