We believe that rapid and accurate action combined with the ability to think outside the box is one of the most important attributes of cancer care. We offer an alternative to the disconnected service you might find at mega hospital systems. Our staff is from the Greater Houston area and our physicians are personally involved in our patients’ care. Finally, there are no students between you and your treating physician.
We are innovators and use our patient’s outcomes to advance our knowledge and publish our data to showcase our work.
University Cancer Centers is a private facility that is free from the politics and economic pressures exerted on some physicians who are employed at public, academic, or otherwise large hospital systems.

Mark D'Andrea, MD, is the oncologist leading the introduction of the Alpha DaRT technology at the University Cancer Center in Houston. He commented, “It is exciting and inspiring to be involved in this study, which utilizes potent alpha radiation to treat patients who have new cancers, those who have failed previous treatment, or cannot be treated by conventional therapies. Unlike surgery or long courses of radiation, with Alpha DaRT the patient receives treatment and returns home the same day. Alpha DaRT can also potentially avoid extensive surgical wounds or be used to treat cancers close to critical organs, for which traditional radiation therapy might be too risky. Alpha Tau's outstanding team provided a smooth onboarding process and made this revolutionary new type of cancer therapy easy to use. Several patients have been recruited at our site, and having treated our first patient today with skin cancer of the head & neck, we are looking forward to helping other patients soon using the Alpha DaRT.”

Dr. D’Andrea knew exactly what was needed to be done & the steps to take in the process of diagnosing my Dad.
My dad is 85 years old and doesn’t like going to doctors but the staff was very kind, friendly and patient with him explaining what was going to take place.
Michelle, at the front desk is absolutely awesome!!! She walked me through the entire process prior to my dad’s appointment. She made us feel like this office /Dr. D’Andreas really care about their patients. Thank you for being the wonderfully compassionate people that you are!!!!!
