Urologic Surgeons of Washington
USW is comprised of Dr. Engel, Andrew Tobon, MD and Ndidi Okanu, NP. We feel that the best way to serve as many patients as possible, to the highest standard, is to create an availability that is rare in medicine today. We have created a newfound emphasis to invite patients with urgent and perhaps non-surgical problems to our practice with the same prioritization that we give more complex issues. Great examples of this are our Urology Urgent Care concept and online ED medication availability. We guarantee same-day appointments with our NP, Ndidi Okanu.
We have expanded our hallmark care to include urine PCR testing for UTIs that allows for next day definitive results, and we will soon offer in-house urologic ultrasound. We offer comprehensive diagnosis and treatment of male and female urologic problems not only including urologic cancers, kidney stones, enlarged prostate, and other voiding concerns but also simple and complex UTIs, testis pain, overactive bladder, blood in the urine, and prostatitis. Office procedures are also a priority such as no scalpel vasectomy and minimally invasive enlarged prostate procedures.

Great office and I would definitely go back if I needed urology care. I was referred for a follow-up after a persistent kidney infection initially treated via urgent care. Dr. Tobon was somewhat dismissive of my experience with recurrent UTIs, though I know he didn't mean anything by it. If you are educated on your health issues and feel comfortable having a discussion with a doctor, he's a great option. If you are looking for someone to be more empathetic and holistic, I'd probably go elsewhere.

This was my first visit with Dr. Tobon, so it's a bit early for me to offer a full recommendation, but I appreciated his straightforward approach. He was direct and clear during our conversation, which I value. He scheduled me right away for a biopsy, which I didn’t find surprising, though I did wonder if other steps like imaging might typically come first.
That said, I’m not a medical professional, and I recognize that he may have seen something that justified moving quickly. Since this was a new situation for me, I probably would have appreciated a bit more explanation about the urgency and next steps—but to be fair, I also didn’t know exactly what to ask in the moment.
Overall, I felt that he was confident and decisive, and I’m approaching this with an open mind and trust in the process so far.
