Vascular Surgical Associates PLLC
Dr. Elizabeth Harrington has been on the faculty of The Mount Sinai Medical Center since 1981. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Barnard College and Alpha Omega Alpha graduate of New York Medical. She completed her surgical residency, as well as her vascular fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Harrington has served as the president of the New York Vascular society from 1998-2000. She holds American Board of Surgery certification in general surgery and special qualifications in vascular surgery. Her areas of expertise include carotid artery disease, peripheral vascular disease and limb salvage and aortic aneurysms and aortoiliac disease.
Dr. Martin Harrington has been on the faculty of The Mount Sinai Hospital since 1989. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Columbia College and graduate of the Harvard Medical School. He completed his surgical residency and vascular fellowship at The Mount Sinai Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering. Dr. Harrington serves on the council of the New York Vascular Society. He holds American board of surgery certification in general surgery and added qualifications in vascular surgery. Prior to his surgical training Dr. Harrington completed training in internal medicine and hematology. His areas of interest include peripheral vascular disease and limb salvage, aortic and peripheral aneurysms. Carotid disease. Venous disease, and vascular access for chemotherapy and dialysis, and nutritional support.

Contrary to some comments on rating apps, Dr. Elizabeth Harrington's office is well-appointed and kept well. The receptionist is extremely friendly&helpful. The doctor looks younger than on her photo and she's very thorough, knowledgeable and experienced. She was more thorough examining me than Dr. Jonathan Hemli, also a vascular surgeon, on my first visit. I look forward to my next visit to her office.

Dr. Martin E. Harrington's misconduct regarding my September 1st, 2026 appointment was reported to my insurance leadership team. I scheduled that appointment with you directly, for 11:15 AM sharp. I received no advance notice of any change, and did not consent to being seen by another provider. Upon arrival, I was evaluated by Dr. Martin E. Harrington instead. When I attempted to discuss my medical history, including documentation from previous physicians, he became aggressive and told me he did not need to document what I had experienced with another provider.
I have asked my insurance provider's authorization department to decline payment for this visit. My request rests on two grounds: I did not consent to being seen by anyone other than you, and my attempt to provide relevant medical history was refused with hostility.
I wish you had communicated with me directly instead of having your husband evaluate me without prior notice.

I had a frustrating experience at this office. I was called ahead to confirm my information, yet still had to fill everything out again upon arrival. I was told to come early, but despite that, I wasn’t seen until about 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time, with a total wait of around an hour.
When I finally saw the doctor, the visit felt rushed—just a few quick questions before being sent out to wait another 30 minutes for an ultrasound. The equipment also seemed very outdated, and they could only provide results on a CD, which feels impractical.
What was most disappointing was the lack of communication. The doctor did not explain much, and I had to push for any information. Even then, there was no real explanation of their opinion or how they reached their conclusions.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized, outdated, and lacking in transparency.

Dr Harrington was very communicative both before, during, and after my appointment. Everyone in the office was friendly and kind. It was a very calm environment and once I was seen the visit moved quickly and smoothly.

Verify that your insurance is accepted before making the trip.
Apparently the PCP on my insurance card was invalid- check in and wait time felt- chaotic. I do not recommend unless you have the entire day to deal with inefficiency.
