They tried to upsell me on the services. I went in for a standard cleaning and they wanted to talk me into getting invisalign and a deep cleaning that was way too much money even after insurance. Everyone in the office was very friendly but I felt that they were trying to do more than was needed.

Dr. Sherwin is really nice. Staff is friendly too, although it feels a bit pushy on the sales. Didn't wanted to accept some things that my insurance was supposed to cover for until I insisted for them to check..

Dr. Shouhed spent the minute or two with me after my cleaning trying to sell me Invisalign. I do think I need Invisalign, but Dr. Shouhed charges significantly more than anything I've seen elsewhere for the same services. The impressive office is definitely part of the deal with this place: it's on the top floor of a building on the West Side; you have a huge view of the mountains from the chair where you get treated; Dr. Shouhed himself wore a custom "Smile Perfector" bomber jacket rather than a white coat or something. To show me how strongly he thought I should get Invisalign (otherwise he said I'd end up grinding my teeth "down to the gums over the next 5 years"), he wheeled in a very slick 3D scanner thing that showed a model of my bite. Seemed like overkill -- he had just taken X-rays of all my teeth that could've shown the same thing -- but I guess that whole show is helpful for getting people to shell out for Invisalign. The kicker was that my cleaning had to be broken into two appointments, and when I showed up for the second one, they showed me that it actually was not going to be fully covered by my insurance, as they had assured me on the phone when I called to confirm. Not an honest place!

Would not recommend this place. Instead of doing a teeth cleaning which I came in for, they immediately went to fill a cavity which wasn't urgent, and kept having to give me numbing medication because it wasn't working.

I will probably go back again, but I will be leery of the upsell. My covered cleaning ended up with a bill, and it wasn't made absolutely clear that what was being offered / recommended was outside the covered stuff by my insurance ahead of time.

I had an excellent experience at VIP Dental Spa and for my 9 years old son too. We were looking for a new dentist in West Hollywood that we could walk too. Everyone who works at the practice is a delight. My only comment was the wait time on both visits (perhaps because they are so popular) and they graciously comped me some service as a gesture without me asking for anything. It was very generous. They have a lovely waiting area. The offices are clean. There is coffee and cookies with magazines and lovely decor. I will be booking my husband an appointment too. Very happy we've found a new family dental practice.

The staff was friendly, but it felt like they were trying to up-sell a bunch of things I didn't really need. When they showed me the breakdown of what I'd be paying at the end of my appointment, there were multiple optional items added that we had never even discussed. Ended up paying half of what was originally quoted to me, but only after I inquired about everything.

I drive over 50 miles to see Dr. Matian. He has to be excellent for me to make that trip when I have several local dentists in my area. I am absolutely happy with the doctor and his staff. I just had a new hygienist, Mae, who was thoroughly excellent in getting my teeth cleaned. Highly recommended!

As someone who is was normally hesitant about dentists I can not be happier that I found VIP Dental Spas in West Hollywood . There are above coffee bean and five guys best which is very convenient and parking is so easy. The office is super convenient and the staff is super nice. I get text reminders in advance of my appointments, which for me is necessary. They even give you free before and after photos for cosmetic work which is super cool
I always get an appointment after work as they are very accommodating with later hours. The doctors are great and are super cool. We talk sneakers which I love
Best of all they have tvs in every room and you can watch Netflix during your procedures.
Overall the best experience that I ever had at a dentist!!!

Man, these guys are **thorough**. From the front desk team explaining costs to the dentist taking personal time to really examine my teeth and explain to me what he was seeing, to the hygienist who was so gentle while giving me THE deepest clean I've ever gotten. You can tell this team cares about their patients and about providing great work. I came in for a regular cleaning and based on the high level of quality and professionalism they showed during my visit I decided to get my crowns replaced - something I've gone to 3-4 dentists for quotes in the past few years - but never felt comfortable enough with a provider to pull the trigger. I'm so glad I found them!
