I've been on the hunt for a consistent dentist for the last few years and I have found that in Dr. Pokhrel and her team. She does a great job in explaining how to adjust your lifestyle to have the best dental hygiene, prevent tooth decay and ensure long lasting smile. She's also very patient and attentive in explaining the long term effects of the treatment plan she proposes. I felt extremely empowered as patient to make informed decisions about my long term oral health.

Everything was great as always! The office is very clean, covid-19 safety measures are thorough (way better than 2 other dental practices I had to go to for various reasons), and they are always caring. I’ve never left so many reviews for a single business — but they really deserve it! I always forget about the massage chair and it’s a good surprise every time I go there: this is so neat!

This is by far the best dentist experience I’ve had in my life. The office space / environment is sensational. The staff was incredibly nice and professional. The chair was making massages while the cleanup was happening and the dental clean up was extremely comfortable. The doctor also took the time to answer all my questions with care and to wrap it all up they gave me a gift when I finished. If you’re looking for a “nice” dentist in SF then you’ll have to settle for exceptional.

It was my first dentist experience in San Francisco. I decided to go there with good reviews from here. I got a dental cleaning from the assistant and he was okay. I met Dr. Srijana after the cleaning and she checked one more time my teeth and found stains on my front teeth and cleared it magically! It was my stress since it's front teeth but now I can smile without worrying:) She was kind and cared for patients!

Dr. Pokhrel, Virginia and the staff at Zen Dental Studio were amazing! The office was super clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. It honestly was more like being at a spa than a dental office! My appointment was on time (I actually was taken early) and all my questions were answered. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone in the Bay area.

Dr. Pokhrel was amazing! Count me in the camp of people who don't meditate and who initially thought the concepts of zen and dentistry couldn't mix... but I was pleasantly surprised by how welcoming, warm, and friendly everyone was. I got free matcha upon arriving and was able to watch Netflix with headphones (as opposed to lame TV commentary) during the entire cleaning. I've definitely been to many dentists over the past decade moving between cities, but she and her team are definitely the best to date!

Zen Dental lives up to its name: it's a very relaxing dentists office. I was searching for a new dentist; had been postponing my dental visit due to covid. I suspected I had a cavity so I couldn't put it off any longer. Zen Dental was able to get me in quickly and took my insurance. Dr. Carpenter did a great job filling my cavities. She was very patient, understanding and accommodating - I tend to get the jitters from the novocaine and I have neck problems so I need to adjust often. I found the gentle massage mode on the dentist chairs to be very relaxing and I love that they offered for me to watch a movie with noise cancelling headphones - I almost fell asleep. Most pleasant cavity fill I've had.

You won't find a cuter dental office with great dentists in SOMA! I am a new patient through Cigna and came in for a standard 6mo cleaning and was in and out of there in less than 2 hours which is really important to me as I have a busy schedule and cannot usually come in on the weekends. I had x-rays and a cleaning done and it was all very painless! *Disclaimer though I enjoy going to the dentist and have never had any teeth problems in my life.* I had Dr. Nina and she was super nice and when the x-ray machine was being used sped up the process and did my gum measurements while I was waiting! Her assistant was also very nice and helpful. The aesthetic of the studio is very focused on zen! They have all the matching decor, a massage chair (!!!!! yes when you're getting your teeth cleaned), and all the little touches that match such as the little goody bag having a mindfulness card. Isn't that just so cute?! Thanks ladies!

This was my first dentist visit in a few years. I was super impressed with the ambience throughout my visit - the music, the design, the front desk staff. The woman who cleaned my teeth was very friendly and talked me through each step she was taking so I knew what to expect. When I did meet with my dentist, Dr. Carpenter, she sat down with me, went through the photos they had taken of my teeth to explain everything she had noticed and show me what it looked like. She was patient with all of my questions. I don't think I've ever had a doctor sit with me and explain things so thoroughly before. It was really appreciated. Will definitely be coming back to this location for future appointments!

At the beginning of the pandemic, I had seen a dentist who ended up doing a lot of work on my mouth that left me in pain and honestly a little scared to go back to a dentist. After a filling I had chipped, I had to find someone and ended up picking Zen Dental based off reviews and aesthetics. I have seen Dr. Nina twice now and she is amazing! She is so nice and super honest, which I appreciated. She made me feel at ease and did such a nice job on that cracked filling, I cant even tell vs my previous dentist left that tooth with a lot of unevenness and pain. The office is small and so cute. Every time I have gone, I have not had to wait at all to be seen! Their dental hygienist staff is also very friendly and nice. And I got to watch netflix during my procedures so that helped! Highly highly recommend.

I'll definitely be coming back! The office is nice and sanitary, the staff are pleasant, and the consult went great. I dread going to the dentist since the last one I went to was more of a treatment/crown mill that suggested unnecessary procedures and happily billed patients exorbitant prices. I didn't feel like that here, I was given information about what was going on with my dental health and the next steps for what I wanted to do next felt more like my choice. I love Zen Dental Studio and Dr. Carpenter. It's modern. Everyone is friendly and smiles. The dentist chairs are massage chairs. They give you Coco floss for your first time. It's tasty and bougie! LOVE IT. When I moved to Berkeley, I was pretty bummed that this office was so far away. I wish I could stay forever!!!! This is the best office I've ever gone to.
