With twenty years of experience, Dr. El Moctar knows that each patient is unique, and strives to offer the most innovative dental solutions to meet the needs of all his patients. Dr. El Moctar had advanced trainings in Orthodontics, Endodontics, and Oral Surgery. He believes strongly in the value of continuing education. He was awarded the Operative Dentistry Outstanding Achievement Award from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
In addition to providing dental care, Dr. El Moctar is a regular volunteer in Northern Virginia community programs and has participated in different volunteering missions in Africa and Asia. In his spare time, Dr. El Moctar enjoys traveling with his wife and kids. His hobbies include traveling, reading, and writing.

Had to get two wisdom teeth removed and Dr. Abdallahi Sidi El Moctar made sure I was comfortable and extracted the teeth so quickly and smoothly I was shocked. Now that it is weeks later I can say that he put in clean stitches that healed quickly and with barely any pain.

Have seen Dr. El Moctar twice now and both have been pleasant experiences. Once was a routine cleaning and wisdom tooth consultation and the second was the dreaded wisdom tooth extraction. Dr. El Moctar made sure I was comfortable and relaxed and extracted the teeth so smoothly and quickly I couldn't believe it. It's been a few weeks since and my gums also healed quickly and rather painlessly.

Before I began seeing Dr. Abdallahi I had not had dental insurance for a number of years after it lapsed between college and full employment. My experiences with dentists were anxiety filled and mainly consisted of old men shaming me for not flossing/ having the time to return home (over 4 hours away) for dental appointments while in college.
My experience with Dr. Abdallahi has changed how I view my dental care. Beginning from my first appointment in September to today's visit (my first routine visit) he carefully laid out a plan to prioritize preventative care and take care of issues that had lingered for over 10 years. Dr. Abdallahi has performed a number of procedures ranging from a deep cleaning to creating and inserting a crown for a troublesome molar, that no other dentist had known how to treat. Consistently he has carefully explained the benefits and necessity of each procedure alleviating any fear and anxiety I felt.
I think a lot of discomfort and fear is associate with dental care. Dr. Abdallahi removes these from the equation. I never question his motives for suggesting a treatment because he kindly explains the reasoning behind his plan and the long lasting benefits of getting a mouth guard, for example, or investing in a build up and crown.
I will continue to see Dr. Abdallahi every six months for the rest of my time living in Washington, D.C. I suggest that everyone who's dental insurance includes Dr. Abdallahi in their plan visit his office. The professionalism, patience, and attention to detail make all the difference.

I had a very pleasant experience with Dr. Abdallahi. He is an excellent dentist. He took the time to explain every procedure he was conducting. He was professional, supportive and understanding.
My root canal went very smoothly, and I have had two painful root canals in the past, so I do have some basis for my reference. He is certainly the best dentist I have ever had.
If what you're looking for is a no pain, gentle touch that provides the highest dental ROI, then Dr. Abdallahi is your answer.

Dr. Moctar is a wonderful doctor! I normally despise going to the dentist due to all the noises and pressure, but this time I truly felt relaxed and at ease. Not only did Dr. Moctar and his assistants do a wonderful job, they really helped me understand how I could improve my dental hygiene. Their explanations were clear and when I did not understand something they were very kind in explaining it to a level to which I could comprehend. Not only was the appointment wonderful and on time, I also enjoyed the front desk service. The lady at the front desk explained everything that I needed to know before I had my appointment and my aftercare package before I left. Overall, it was a truly wonderful experience and I would recommend Dr. Moctar to friends, families, and co-workers.

I was very impressed with my visit. This was my first appointment with Abdallahi Sidi El Moctar and I felt very comfortable. I have a horrible history of dental issues and the doctor and nurses were very patient and understanding about my hesitations and fear of drills. They also took their time and were very careful with their dental work. I would definitely recommend this dentist to my friends.
