Dr. Sherman earned his Bachelor of Arts in Cellular Biology from the University of Illinois and his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Boston University, where he graduated Cum Laude. He continued his training in a post-graduate residency program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
As the son of a dentist, Dr. Sherman developed an interest in the profession at an early age. While in college, he spent his summers employed as a dental assistant, developing his skills and learning under his father’s tutelage. Dr. Sherman truly enjoys the continuing education and evolution of his profession, and always strives to improve his knowledge and professional skills in order to enhance each patient’s dental health.
Dr. Sherman grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and now resides in Washington, D.C. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys staying active by running and biking. He loves spending time with his family and his two favorite golden retriever buddies, Cooper and Jackson.
Dr. Sherman has a strong commitment to the practice and a sincere passion for improving his patients’ smiles. He is a wonderful asset in our patients’ ongoing care.

Very friendly and professional staff. I was quite anxious about going to see a dentist after not having gone to one in a very, very, very long time. Dr. Sherman was very thorough and informative. The hygenist who cleaned my teeth, Pam I believe, was a delight. Extremely gentle. Front office, staff, assistants, the doctor and the hygenist were all top notch. Couldn't have been treated better. Excellent work all around.

Dr. Sherman's office is a warm and friendly place. I'm a fairly anxious patient, but the staff always puts me at ease. My cleaning was top-notch, and Dr. Sherman was thorough and pleasant. He even met me out at the office on a Saturday morning after I chipped my front tooth. I highly recommend Dr. Sherman and Gentle Dental Care!

As someone who physically hates the dentist, and who hasn't gone to a dentist in 7+ years I am so pleased with my visit today. Dr. Sherman rocked, and was very sensitive to my concerns and comments. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great high quality dentist who cares for his patients.
