Dr. Albina Polt graduated from NYU college of Dentistry in 2000 and open up her own practice in the center of Rego park/Forest Hills. office is equiped with digital Xrays, intraoral camera and up to date sterilization technique
She received her BS degree from St. John's University, where she was on DEAN'S list for her outstanding achievement in science. she graduated with summa cum laude GPA and was on scholarship during her undegraduate years
Dr. Polt is bilingual, russian/english. currently doctor resides with her family in Queens and very happy to serve her community with dental needs. we see kids, same day emergencies, evening and weekend hours

After going to the same dentist for 6 years, I was hesitant to see someone new. however, i am very pleased to say that Dr. Polt exceeded my expectations. The office is small, but very organized and clean...i noticed immediately that they had several plants that look well tended to...that is a very good sign for me.
Upon arrival the reception person was able to print out my Zocdoc paperwork, and Dr Polt took a moment to ensure that my insurance information got updated to show her as my primary dentist.
I had to bring my 3 year old with me, and Dr Polt gave her a book and Minion toothbrush when she noticed her getting fidgety. That is always a big help.
Dr. Polt was very tactical when cleaning my teeth, and made sure I was comfortable. She gave good advice on next steps as well. I was glad I was able to see her and hope to try her with my children next!

After two months they never submitted my claim to insurance so that I may get some money back. Wait time is usually about 1 hour. Not sure what is the point of making an appointment.

My appointment was for 1 pm . I arrived at 1230 pm and was not acknowledged by the receptionist until 230 when she asked me to fill out forms 2 hours later !!!! Horribleeeeeee place . Wasnt even seen . There wasnt even that many patients to take 2 hours to acknowledge a new patient !

Visited about a year ago to get a simple cleaning. I ended up having to go at least 5 more times for cavity issues. Because only one side of your mouth can have anesthesia at once, Dr. Polt was only to do one at a time and that is fine but every time I went, she would find something wrong with the other side of my mouth without anesthesia and vice versa. Instead of fully completing one side of my mouth in one day I had to keep going back and forth which was very time consuming.

Great! I'm glad I was finally able to get my teeth taken care of as dental insurance is a nightmare and Dr. Polt was very reasonably priced for her location and the fact that she's in NYC. For each appointment I was in an out in about 2 hours (excluding wait time < 30 mins) and she is now my go to dentist. Also, thanks to ZocDoc for being awesomely professional, reaching out to me when there was a minor discrepancy and emailing all my info beforehand to the doctor so I didn't have to fill out any paperwork when I got there (stress less!) and they reminded me the day before and day of. It made the entire root canal/crown confusion and fear I had so much easier. It makes me look forward to my next dentist appointment!

This is my second visit of Dr Polt's office, and now I can make some conclusions and leave my feedback.
My first impression was positive and second visit hasn't left any doubts to be a regular patient of hers. She is very professional, attentive, dedicated.
The most thing I liked is her foreseeing the possible problems with your teeth in future. She gives a useful advice to prevent a disease.
I would recommend her with my most confidence to any patient.

The office is extremely small and dirty. Dr. Polt had very poor bedside manners, she has an " I don't care" demeanor. I refused to go any further with my appointment. I will never return. Also the area in which her Basement Office is located is plagued with animal feces. Parking is non existing, so I had to walk a block..all the while trying to avoid stepping in poop!

Dr. Polt was very friendly. Her and her staff was pleasant. I only had to wait about 15 minutes and this was because my daughter was a new patient.

She was okay but in my case she rushed my dental appointment. I don't know if it is a state thing but she did not clean my teeth as thorough as what I had in California. It took her only 30 mins to do the whole thing and it was painful unlike (again) with my previous dentist in california. Flossed my teeth on the night of my appointment and I know gross but it wasn't clean.

I'm a bit surprised by all the positive reviews here.. Overall I did not appreciate that I was not informed that my cleaning would be a deep cleaning (I have never had one of those before) and the Dr. found another cavity while working in my mouth and did not inform me about it before she filled it. I felt that this wasn't very professional and did not appreciate these actions- it also made me suspicious if I needed the level of work that she performed.

Being that my last 2 dentist were horrible ! i must say i was a bit apprehensive to try another one out. It was a relief that this office was able to took care of my issue accuretly and with one visit only. The waiting time was decent, cannot complain so far.

I didn't have dr.polt but everyone in the office was friendly. Little too no wait. I think my doctor name is Erica I love her. I'm scared of dentist but she made me comfortable and we joked half the time I was there! Amazing. Space a little small is the only down side.

I was always afraid to go to a dentist. Needles was my main concern plus the noise of the drilling machine. With Dr. Polt I felt very relaxed and calm, she does not rush, she explains every procedure step by step, shows you your problem with intra oral camera, so you can see before and after pictures. Office has digital X-ray and TV so you can watch news or any other channel if you are waiting. They also give out packages with necessary tools to keep your teeth white and healthy.
