The whole experience was odd. The building, bathrooms, and office were incredibly dated. The doctor himself did my cleaning and it was a disaster - it was painful, saliva streaming down my face because there was no care in how the suction was placed, his breath was unpleasant. For the first time in my life I felt like the dentist was a used car salesman in the way he tried to upsell me on other services. In today's world where we have so many options and experiences matter there are just so many better options.

My visit wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. Everyone was polite, but no one was all that personable or bothered to make conversation with me. I get really nervous at the dentist, so having awkward silence in the room didn't help at all. The exam was quick and easy, but my cleaning was way too fast. That sounds like a weird thing to complain about, but it was over in 5 minutes tops, so I can't imagine it was very thorough - and my teeth look pretty much the same, not whiter like they usually do after a cleaning. It was painful too; the doctor seemed to be rushing and he kept jabbing my gums. I wouldn't recommend him, especially if you have a fear of the dentist like I do.

I was seen very quickly, even with having to fill out new patient forms. Dr Gelman was very professional and answered all of my questions. His accent was slightly difficult to understand, but he repeated things when I asked. No cavities, so no complaints here! I also liked that they text and email you with your next appointment. Very convenient.

Step 1 was the hard part as he said and he seems to be very compassionate towards his patients. Some doctors seem "textbook" Dr Gelman had a plan that worked for me and made me comfortable which will result in a healthy smile.

The best dentist I've ever had! Super friendly staff! if your appointment is at 12:30pm, you're seated in the chair by 12:31pm and Dr. Gelman is solving teeth problems by 12:32pm!

I had my 1st appointment yesterday with Dr Gelman. An emergency appointment for an extraction it wasn't your routine cleaning etc. Im not one who gets anxious about seeing the dentist like I know many people are, I mean by no means is it a pleasant experience but I don't panic either.
Knowing that I will say my overall experience would best be described as .... Let's say I was one that really freaks out about the dentist and everything about it, like valum is prescribed for me to take before the appointment..... The compassion and professionalism not to mention patience from Dr to the front desk employee was off the charts!!! If I had any of those fears they would be completely gone due to the outstanding patient care provided by Dr Gelman and staff!!!

This office from person who greeted me, to dental hygienist, to the Dentist himself. They were kind, courteous,prompt, attentive, friendly, professional and knowledgeable.I felt assured that my smile would be great at the end and trusted them completely. I will recommend Dr. Gelman and his practice to everyone. One asset i have is when i believe in someone or something. i spread the word and people listen.

Had to wait almost 45 mins before my appointment started. The office is just ok. There are videos being shown of dental procedures that no one wants to see. There should be news or something relaxing on the tv screen. Due to the wait, I don't think I will go back.

Very high standard service, I was informed what is the current situation of the tooth for which I came in. Then I was informed what procedures will take place and what are the possible and probable outcomes. Luckily, it was just a filling and he offered to try and save the live tooth instead of going for root canal straight away. I am glad I was able to make an informed choice. Highly recommend. I did extensive research for a good dentist and never felt sorry for my choice with this one.
I am also glad and thankful that reception desk were able to investigate and trace my insurance plans for me so that I would be able to maximize my benefit. People worked hard to provide me with excellent service and I appreciate that very much.

The reason why I had to wait was because for some reason I accidentally cancelled, then reschedule. But if you're on time they help you right away. They were super nice and the Dentist is soo cool. They also accept my insurance where most dentist around my area didn't accept. I recommend this Dentist to any first timers, I had a great experience!

Absolutely wonderful!!!!!!! I have had a terrible fear of dentists since I was younger and it kept me from getting the proper care for my teeth. After visiting DR. Gelman today, I regret not finding him sooner! Absolutely pain free and a very comfortable environment. I'm actually looking forward to getting the things that I need done....he is a godsend!!!!!!

Had to have an emergency root canal and was able to get an appointment right away. Great visit and helped my tooth feel a lot better immediately, had great bedside manner, and was very professional. I have a huge fear of the dentist and he made me feel very comfortable and was very accommodating. He even followed up just to see how my tooth was feeling. Will definitely got back again.

Dr. Gelman is an Excellent Dentist, Very Nice Person, he always do his best to help his patients with all problems they might have, I really enjoyed the time that I spent visiting the East Allegheny Dental 1 Office. The atmosphere was very nice in the office, the girls in front desk were very nice to me, they helped me with all questions and problems that I had, they were doing their best. And I would like to mention one more thing regarding the design of the office, I really loved the design in the office, they have really good taste, the colors of the walls, the comfortable chairs and other decorations in the office and I think it is very important to feel comfortable, to relax and to enjoy your time spending in the such qualified office as East Allegheny Dental 1 Office is!!!
