I was so happy to see there was a new orthodontist open in Rockland county! The office was new and very clean and designed with both the young and adult patient in mind, which I liked as an adult!The staff was friendly and accommodating with my schedule. Dr Sachdev was very sweet and I could tell she knew her stuff! She had the newest technology and explained everything as she went. She was meticulous and thorough, which I appreciated given this is my smile we're talking about! She was able to recommend her treatment plan before I left. She gave me multiple options and explained the pros and cons for each option, while taking into account my budget and lifestyle. The staff worked with my insurance company before and during my visit. I was happy with the plan we decided on together and I'm excited to get my braces and see my new smile! I look forward to working with Dr Sachdev and her staff for the next 15 months!

More about Dr. Ameeta Sachdev, DMD
Dr. Ameeta Sachdev has been in the dental field for almost two decades. While attending dental school in India, she was selected as the Best Student Clinician of India, and presented her table top clinic at the American Dental Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco, 2003. During that period, her interests in dentistry varied from studying dental fear to researching Ayurveda as a holistic approach to dentistry. She then decided to pursue her career in United States and was awarded a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Tufts University, Boston.
After moving to New York, Dr. Sachdev worked in the Bronx: at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center (now Montefiore North Hospital) during her General Practice Residency (GPR). Thereafter, she worked for 3 years as a general dentist at Ezras Choilim Health Center, Monroe, while also pursuing her interest in orthodontics by attending a full time 11 month didactic and clinical orthodontic advanced education program at New Jersey Dental School (now Rutgers School of Dental Medicine).
With the support and encouragement of her family, Dr. Ameeta moved to Denver to complete her orthodontic residency at University of Colorado. Upon her return she has been serving in Rockland County as an orthodontist. She is also an attending at St. Barnabas Hospital, Bronx where she enjoys teaching the orthodontic residents.
Having called North Rockland her home for a decade, she chose to fulfill the orthodontic needs of the community and thus the idea of Sachdev Family Orthodontics (SFO) was borne. (SFO, code for San Francisco Airport, is also the first airport that Dr. Ameeta landed in US!). She believes that every relationship begins with a smile and wants to be able to help people “Just smile!” without any inhibitions.
