“I have been seeing Dr. V for a few years now, and no one has come close to matching the services her team provides. I drive over an hour to visit her office. I did tell them that I was looking for an office closer to me, and I had a terrible experience with them. After a visit to Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry, I felt reassured and more confident in my ability to tell what is right and what is wrong when it comes to dentistry. I may never find an office closer to me that comes close to Dr. V, but it is worth the time and energy it takes to get there, knowing that when I do, I will be met with fairness and compassion.”

About Dr. Amy Vlachakis
At Healthy Smiles Family Dentistry, Dr. Amy Vlachakis (pronounced Vla-ha-kiss) and her staff strive to make their patients feel like family. Dr. V wants her patients to have the most up-to-date and accurate information available, so they are comfortable making the best decisions for their dental health. Healthy Smiles' number one priority is the health and well-being of their patients.
Dr. Vlachakis has been in Houston for the majority of her life. She graduated from Taylor High School and devoted herself to working part-time and volunteering at a local hospital, where she discovered her calling for dentistry. She then attended and graduated from the University of Texas, Houston, Dental Branch, receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Dr. V has a passion for treating all patients in need of dental care in her community, young or not as young. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Association. Her philosophy is to learn and utilize the latest technologies that will benefit her patients the most.
Dr. Vlachakis met her husband, Michael, while she was in Corpus Christi studying and he was stationed there with the Navy. They have a home near the Heights where they enjoy taking their dog, Mia, to the park or on walks around the neighborhood, then all lounge at home with Tansy, their cat. Dr. V enjoys traveling, reading, movies, and being surrounded by her close friends and family. She hopes to have the privilege to work on your whole family.
