Dr. Shoemaker is a mechanical engineer from Georgia Tech. He spent two years working for Lockheed Martin in Marietta before returning to dental school. Dr. Shoemaker received his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia where he graduated number one in his class. He completed his Pediatric Dental Residency at the same institution. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
Following graduation, Dr. Shoemaker worked as a full time faculty member at the Medical College of Georgia. He has given lectures at national and regional dental meetings discussing the management of special needs patients and technological advancements in the practice of pediatric dentistry. After his academic career, Dr. Shoemaker worked in private practice in the Atlanta area for a number of years prior to opening Shoemaker Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Shoemaker is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and the College of Diplomates or the American Board of Pediatric Dentist.
Dr. Shoemaker is married and has two young boys. He enjoys tennis, coaching soccer, golf, running, and spending time with family.
