It’s exciting for me to work in the Washington, DC, area, treating such a diverse group of patients, and seeing how so many different cultures seem to have one thing in common – the desire to have a beautiful smile!
I truly love what I do as an orthodontist, and I feel honored whenever a new patient chooses to receive treatment from this practice. I am also extremely grateful for my staff, many of whom I have worked with for over ten years. It is deeply fulfilling and humbling that so many people have confidence in the care they receive here, and are willing to share their life-changing experiences with us. Many of my patients have even kept in touch with our practice long after they’ve completed treatment, and have referred friends and family members, which I consider the greatest gift of all.

I saw Dr. Mendoza to discuss treatment options for crooked teeth and I have to say, I haven't met a doctor having so much patience answering questions and explaining the details of treatment process. He was very clear about the prices of the treatment and to my surprise, didn't charge me anything for my approx. 45 min initial consultation. I feel very lucky to have found him, he is both highly competent and caring.

I went to see Dr. Mendoza for an Invisalign consultation and he was very knowledgeable about the whole process and transparent about pricing. He was one of the original orthodontists trained to administer Invisalign, so I'm excited to get started!

It was a thorough information appointment. My last orthodontist was not as thorough at explaining the process for invisalign. I would recommend him to anyone seeking orthodontic work and wants to understand what is the process that is being performed and provide input in acquiring a great smile.

Dr. Mendoza is Very courteous, comfortable, professional and personable. My primary dentist (also a great person himself) recommended Dr. Mendoza for adult braces.
I had made an early morning appointment, which was 20 minutes before the start of his regular office hours and arrived late due to the horrible weather. When I walked into his office, I found him waiting for me alone before his staff had come in for the day. I felt so bad and apologized to him, but he just smiled friendly and said that was okay. He proceeded with paperwork quickly, and I was seen quite soon regardless of my late arrival.
As for his work, he is very detailed, explained materials fully and in the language that lay people would understand, gave me time to think and ask questions each time, and also provided clear treatment plans, goals, and costs. There are no vagueness or gray area in pricing and treatment contents, and he made it easy for me to ask anything.
I was assured that it is safe to trust him and spend a large amount of money for adult braces (my insurance plan would not cover) because he will take a great care of it from the beginning to the end and also post-treatment.
His staff was friendly and I felt it was a nice environment.

Unlike a neighboring orthodontist, Dr. Mendoza's office was much more pleasant and non-chaotic. The front desk person immediately recognized I was a new patient and handed me a two sided page to fill out as she made copies of my ID and insurance and called insurance to confirm enrollment and benefits.
My appointment with Dr. Mendoza was at 10:40 am, and he called me in himself a few minutes later. He took a look at my teeth and provided an estimated treatment plan for braces (he thinks traditional metal and ceramic are the same) and for invisalign. His estimate was 20 months for braces at a cost of $4,000 and invisalign for 1 year at a cost of $5,000. The invisalign cost covers everything (emergency visits, aligners, retainers, free whitening service, etc.), and I am assuming the same would be true for braces.
He said he was a perfectionist. If I'm happy with my teeth after a certain agreed upon time, he'd stop but if he thinks my teeth could use more tweaking, he would continue to work with me if it was ok with me.
All in all, I had a much higher level of comfort with him than with another orthodontist. Dr. Mendoza was soft spoken, polite, and said quite a bit. He identified that I had a bunch of teeth removed and I still had crowding so it would take time to get everybody in their rightful place. I also liked that he provided a write up of treatment time and costs for me to take home and consider. Within 20 minutes, I was out the door.
Front desk person tried to get me to schedule a follow up but not having my work calendar with me, I deferred until later.
One good thing is while they open kind of late (10 am), they do stay open til 6 pm Mondays - Fridays.
