Dr. Arun K. Sharda enjoys working with his patients, helping them maintain healthy, confident smiles and avoid dental pain. Active in North Carolina since 1996, he has more than 31 years’ experience in clinical dentistry, at practices in England, Scotland, and the United States. He has assisted in research on a variety of dental topics, including cosmetic dentistry, oral cancer, and emergencies in dentistry
Born and raised in Kenya, East Africa, Dr. Sharda began his dental education at Birmingham
University Dental School in Birmingham, England, where he earned Honors in Oral Surgery, Restorative and Preventative Dentistry. On graduation, he practiced at the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons in both Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. He moved to the United States in 1993 and went on to earn his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA, where he was awarded Honors in Fixed/Removable Prosthodontics.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society, the Rockingham County Dental Society, and Tufts University Alumni.
In addition to practicing dentistry, Dr. Sharda has volunteered his time at nursing homes, schools and free dental clinics. His future plans include continuing these volunteer efforts as well as teaching dentistry.
Dr. Sharda and his wife, Asha, live in Greensboro, where they are active in the community. They have two sons: Ashish, a law student at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Alok, a senior at Duke University. In his free time, Dr. Sharda enjoys playing tennis; traveling to visit family in England, Canada, a

I love this facility. From the time you walk in you feel a warmth from Shelia the receptionist. She is so nice and very caring. She even pretty much remembers your name. The Drs and other staff members are great as well. I always leave feeling great and knowing I will be returning for all my dental needs. Couldn't ask for a better establishment to handle my needs. Love this place and their staff. Very inviting.

All of my previous dentist visits in the past have been pure horror stories from fillings that weren't needed, a tooth extraction as a child that was not needed, to waking up in the middle of a complicated wisdom tooth extraction. I like this dentist. She immediately saw that I was not expecting what was needed to be done that same day and that I was extremely uncomfortable. She worked with that, answered all of my questions and was understanding of my anxiety. On the day of the actual wisdom tooth extraction, she told me everything that was going to happen and made sure that I felt as little pain as possible and was even willing to communicate what was going on during the procedure. Whenever I would tense up, I was gently reminded to relax and breathe. At no time was the approach ever condescending or arrogant. It takes a lot for me to say it coming from such bad experiences but I do indeed like this dentist and while I hope to never need another tooth removed, I would not hesitate to let this dentist do it.

I was not happy with my experience here. The dentist constantly pressured me into getting braces even after I told him several times that I did not want them. He actually even told me that I would look much prettier if I got braces!! Also, I had to go back several times after my filling for him to adjust/fix things that he did not get right the first time. I would not go back to this dentist again.
