I had got an extracting I didn't feel a thing. There was a bit pressure but he was quick. Soon when he numb my gum he did the extraction right away. Unlike most Doctor they would numb you and come back 30 minutes later. I was in the chair 15 minutes tops.

I'm 28 years old and my mouth isn't perfect but I went there thinking that he would help me with fixing my already bad teeth from childhood and the only thing he kept telling me was that my mouth was in bad shape(as if I didn't already know) and that I should take better care of myself, wow just oh so unprofessional. My mother always told me that if you dont have anything nice to say, keep quiet.but for him to be a dr he surely does fight alot with his office staff.I wouldn't recommend him to anybody.

The staff was friendly. Melissa is very pleasant she was kind and helpful throughout my visit. Having at least one positive employee makes a great visit. The rest of the staff were good.

I did not by any means appreciate the patient care at all. Nor would I recommend this dental office to anyone. I was very displeased with the rushed exam and the abrupt comments not only to my son but to his staff as well.

It was absolutely dreadful. I was in so much pain I had to scream, and the dentist had the nerve to tell me that I could not scream! And it was all his fault in the first place. I will never go there again!

After waiting in the lobby for over an hour with 2 returned patients in pain and with swollen mouths. I was then escorted to a not so clean wet chair and sat for another twenty minutes to get x-rays done. After that I sat for another twenty minutes before I talk with the actual dentist who then said we were going to have to complete some work that would have taken maybe another hour or so, after that he then went to see another patient after waiting for him return another twenty minutes I finally had enough waiting around and decided to leave with not even a cleaning. I was there for over two hours and nothing but x-rays completed. Complete waste of my time.

The staff was pleasant from the front desk to the dental assistants. However, Dr. Akel made my first impression of the office and overall experience TERRIBLE. He sarcastically asked several times, "do you ever open your mouth and look in the mirror? " And made me feel as if my cavities were the worst thing ever as he constantly made sighing noises as if he was pressed for time. (By the way my cavities are the reason he has a job) I was trying to comprehend what he was saying about what my insurance wouldn't cover and after inquiring he sarcastically says, "we just went over that", instead of explaining it to me. I won't even bother posting every insult but bottom line, I felt made fun of. I refused to have anything done at that moment and was about to talk to him about a payment plan and a future appt but as soon as I refused he stormed out. The assistant came in to ask me was everything ok and I said yes but I think he's mad. I was simply trying to spare him from doing work that I wasn't equipped to pay for since finding out my insurance won't cover it according to him. All in all, on the way out I asked him was he mad because I was still talking to him as he stormed out. His reply was that he was getting a chart to see another patient. How could that be when he didn't properly discharge me? I politely told Dr. Akel that I am a customer and the way he handled me made me feel like he is only about the money and not my oral health. He could have explained my health issue, tell me his plan of care and please come back soon so that I may assist you, that's it! Merry Christmas and happy New year were my lasts words and due to lack of customer service, I will NEVER return. I'm a very loyal customer to anyone who is kind and compassionate and drove from Hialeah to Lauderhill just to see him...what a bummer. I feel sorry for you Dr. Akel, I will pray for you.
