I am very fearful of the dentist. His front office staff genuinely cares and wants you to be comfortable. The appointment was not rushed and I felt like a priority. With more appointments pending, I feel comfortable with knowing he cares. First dentist I have ever liked.

Dr. Bernard Rust has been practicing dentistry for over 30 years. He received his undergraduate degree from St. Mary's University in San Antonio and also graduated from the St. Louis University School of Dentistry. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Rust began practicing in Irving, Texas. During his 20 year stay in the Dallas area, he also taught Endodontics at the Baylor School of Dentistry.
Dr. Rust spent 10 years in west Texas as Sonora's only dentist. While pursuing a fellowship in implantology at UTHSCSA's dental school, he and his wife Mary fell in love with San Antonio. They moved to the Alamo City in 1997 and Dr. Rust started a new practice at the present Hwy 281 and Bitters location.
Dr. Rust received his Mastership into the Academy of General Dentistry July 19, 2008. This is not easily attained. It takes extreme dedication to the profession. In the 54-year history of the Academy of General Dentistry, only 2,378 dentists nationwide and in Canada, have achieved this award. This is less than 2% of all dentists nationwide.
Dr. Rust has been listed in San Antonio Monthly Magazine as one of San Antonio's Top Dentists for the last 4 years. He was nominated as the “2010 Texas Dentist of the Year” by his peers in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Rust is also listed in Texas Monthly as a Texas Super Dentist 2010, 2011, and 2012.
